Wings tasted like jerky. Ordered take out on Super Bowl Sunday. The wings had hardly any meat on them. They tasted like they were cooked once and re-cooked again. If your looking for wings I would highly recommend somewhere else.

AWFUL PEOPLE. This establishment is HIGHLY offensive and inconsiderate. The "chef" says he is a vegetarian, so never tastes the wings. He also feels compelled to exit the kitchen and share his very profane feelings about the restaurant and the rest of his shortcomings. I tried this place on a recommendation by friends but left tipping very little as the female bartender ( mother of 3 she was so excited to share with me ) tried to conmtinually sell me food that I didn't want. Extremely shocked at how little this place cares about hard-working people and the money they work hard for to spend. Subway would be a far more excellent place in this location. AND THE WINGS WERE TERRIBLE !

HAS GONE DOWNHILL VERY FAST. Em R Wings was always one of my favorite places to eat - we were very loyal customers. Since the name has changed to Apex Wings, the place has taken a very fast plunge downhill. Wings that use to be perfect are now dry and tasteless. Plus, why do they keep closing early when the door states they close at 10pm?? I get off work at 9:15 on Friday nights and had a standing date with my hubby at Apex Wings at 9:30. Two weeks ago we arrived and they were scooting people out the door and announced to us "sorry folks, that is it tonight". Okay, that it is for us too - forever. The rude behavior on top of the declining quality of the food was the last straw. There are too many other places in the area to dine.

Awful food, awful service. My boyfriend and I found this place online shortly after his return from Afghanistan. He was craving wings and a quick google search for "best wings in Raleigh" lead us here. The place was a hole-in-the-wall, which we prefer. We were both starving and quite excited after the reviews we'd seen. The service was poor and every empty table had yet to be cleaned (we cleaned ours ourselves), but we were still excited. My boyfriend even admitted later to wanting to high-five me for finding a great hidden wing joint, but decided to hold off until after we got our food.

Good thing he did. The wings came and they lacked the most important part.. the meat! We had three sauces, which were excellent, but ended up leaving due to the quality of the wings themselves. They were all skin and bones and were grossly overcooked.

In 15 years, I've never seen my boyfriend talk to anyone about bad food (he even puts up with my cooking!) but he felt obligated to talk to the wait staff about the wings we received. He told them about the good reviews and good sauce and then noted that the wings were lacking substance and were overcooked. He was told that this is the way they make them "extra-crispy" and that if we wanted meat we should have asked for them "plump".

Needless to say, we ended up leaving and going to another restaurant for dinner because we were still hungry.

My advice- stay away from this place unless sauce covered, crispy bones are your thing. Maybe try asking for "plump" if you do go... but really.. just don't go.

love this place!. My family and I have eaten here for years and absolutely love it! Good service, inexpensive and great food! Place is usually filled with regulars and has a hole-in-the-wall type atmosphere
