've experienced consistently poor service at the drive-thru at all hours of the day but particularly at night. My family and I have come to expect that food we've paid for will not be in the bag and that any condiments requested will also be missing. We've been willing to accept this because no other drive-thru is open that late in Apex but the most recent service was beyond poor.

Tonight the staff had closed the kitchen before their advertised closing time and had cashed out the register and requested credit card payment only. I was at the drive-through a half hour to closing and asked for chicken nuggets. Was told they didn't have any. I then asked for a chicken wrap. Was told that they couldn't make any chicken at all because they had turned off the fryer. I then asked for a baked potato and they said they had put them away already. So I asked for chilli-cheese fries and they said they had put they cheese away and couldn't do that either. So for $17 I had to order food I did not want simply because I hadn't eaten all day and they were the only restaurant open. When I tried to pay they had said they'd already cashed out the register and said I had to pay with credit card. When I got the food I immediately checked the bag to ensure the order was correct. The french fries were freshly served cold. The condiments requested were not in the bag.

During the summer I often don't feel safe going to the drive-thru because there are usually teenagers on skateboards in the parking lot and in the drive-thru lane itself. I don't want to hit any one with my car nor do I want to feel like I have to watch a half-dozen people surrounding my car in case they plan on harassing or robbing me.

If there were any other drive-thru open late I would never return to this Wendy's ever again.
