Cheap Cheap Cheap.
Went there tonight and ordered two small pizzas with my boyfriend - one was the Creole-Q pizza with shrimp. The other was the "philosopher". We were shocked when the pizzas came out - the toppings were so skimpy that we thought there was a mistake. The creole pizza has less than 10 tiny shrimp on the whole thing and a few onions - thats it. - and it costs $13. When I asked the waitress about it she said that is the way it normally looked. The other pizza - the "philosopher" wasn't much better. We had to ask for extra parmesian cheese to doctor the pizzas
The pizza was all dough - minimal toppings- $30 for 2 small pizzas and soft drinks - we felt cheated. Wont go back again.......

Great Family Friendly and delicious Pizza!!.
I frequent this mellow with my family and groups of friends all the time. Just got to check out the new beer menu the other night. They have by far the best pizza and beer selection in the area. The big screen rocks, and the other day they were showing concert DVD's while i was getting some lunch. Very cool place, and the staff has always been very friendly to me.

Horrible service, food not as good as downtown.
I have loved Mellow Mushroom for years and have always had a great experience at the locations in Raleigh, Chapel Hill (now closed), Boone, etc. I was thrilled that MM was coming to Wake Forest and went the first week it opened. I had a horrible experience, but knew they just opened so I gave them several more chances. They are just nothing like the other locations. The bartenders were rude and stood talking to some apparent regulars, the girls at the hostess/to go area were flirting with the guys in the kitchen and completely ignored us for several minutes, the servers are incompetent and got orders wrong on several visits, etc. Even the food isn't very good. I assume they use the same ingredients and recipes as other locations, but the food just didn't taste good (pretzels burned, salad skimpy, sandwich cold, calzone over 50% just dough with no cheese or toppings). The final straw was tonight - We met some friends tonight for dinner just before 9pm since they don't close until 10pm, but were told they had shut the kitchen down early since "there was no business". No apology at all for the inconvenience. I'm not ever giving this MM my business again. I'd rather drive all the way to downtown Raleigh for decent service and awesome food.

Not as Good.
Have eaten here four times since opening. Huge fans of the downtown store and was glad they opened one near home. Unfortunately the pizza is not as good. Skimpy toppings and on one occasion the pizza was actually just warm...like the ovens were not working that night. Slow service and skimpy salads. Not worth the long wait... unlike downtown. Will not return to this location.
