I have used sawyers before, I moved from Charlotte to Raleigh and they did that move also. I only had one problem, I could not find my TV remote, I called the company and they sent me a check for 15$ to buy a new remote, then last week I found the lost remote in a box, I called to return the $15 they sent me and they told me not to be worried about returning the money, these are really honest guys, very nice to do business with!

Sawyer’s Moving: the moving company
I was in need of assistance for a local move of about 7 miles. On my prior move, about four years ago but with essentially the same stuff, two teenagers loaded all of my stuff into a truck in barely an hour, doing a good job, and on unloading, one good worker did it alone, in under an hour. When I first called Sawyer’s moving, I explained that the drive time from the old place to the new place is about ten minutes, and that two men should be able to load and unload in less than three hours. The cost estimate was $300, and that amount is the most that it should have cost. It ended up being nearly $400, and was nothing but a rip-off. They were supposed to arrive with TWO men, but THREE men showed up, and only one of them made any real effort to work. They all took turns taking little short breaks, for a job that should have been completed in three hours. The driver took a little lunch break. He ate a can of vienna sausages, and I later found the can in my recycling bin and his plastic fork in the driveway next to where the truck was parked.
Just a few minutes before the time that they were supposed to arrive, I got a call from the driver. He said he was late, but did not seem to have any idea where he was going, and even less of an idea where he was. He kept insisting that he was in South Carolina rather than North Carolina, and told me several times that Raleigh and Charlotte were in South Carolina, not North Carolina. He talked back to me and spoke in a very rude, belligerent tone. I called the number that I originally had called to schedule the move. It turns out that this number is the home phone number for a lady who does the scheduling, out of her home.
They eventually showed up, nearly a half-hour late. All three of them were wearing sleeveless shirts, and looked like they had just crawled out of some hole somewhere. They would not take direction from me at all. I repeatedly asked them to support boxes from the bottom, and they ignored me. The younger white fellow insisted on carrying too many boxes at once and carrying them on his back with his arms precariously wrapped around the sides of the boxes. When unloading in the new place, he backed himself up against the wall and let the cardboard boxes slide down the wall, marking the paint in the process. I had to ask him several times not to do that. The two other fellows spent a good deal of the time arguing with each other.
These are NOT professional movers. It is a company owned and operated by a man who somehow managed to buy himself some trucks. He might know how to make his company successful financially, but his employees are untrained and undisciplined. The person who schedules the moves operates out of her house. There is no way in h@ll that I would ever let Sawyer’s Moving move me again. Do NOT use this company.
What a horrible experience!! I went
online and read the bad reviews of this company, and the good ones....I decided that I was going to be fair and give them a shot.
I booked my move with the proper details and information with a very polite and welcoming gentleman over the telephone. I was quoted at around $225 give or take a little, with a confirmed estimate the day of the move. Cool. I get a call a few days out to confirm my move and the details which reiterated the fact that I was moving from one 3rd floor apartment in my complex to another 3rd floor in the same complex. I spoke with a very polite lady who again reiterated that I'd be paying around $225. And in her words, that was "at the most". I'm thinking GREAT, I can't wait to get this move over and done with and I'll be more than happy to boast about my good experience at such an economical price. Then the night before my move I get another confirmation call (the call/confirmation center is based out of Florida) from a guy who is going over the details with me...everything seemed accurate until he said that I was moving from one ground floor apartment to another. So I stopped him and interjected the correct information. He then proceeded to tell me that I must have heard something wrong. When I told him that I'd had multiple conversations with more than one person who both confirmed that $225 price he had the nerve to ask me did I really think it would be possible to do all of that in a couple of hours. I tried to be polite and tell him that I didn't know exactly how long it would take because I'm not a mover, but that I'd arranged everything in the living room to make it easy and no one had spoken illy of this time frame before. He then decided to insist that I'd heard something wrong. I told him that I don't have time to play games, that my hearing was just fine and that I wouldn't make up a figure the night before my move just to try and scam someone, but that I was only telling him what others in his company had previously told me. So he stopped and said that the move would cost me around $500! That was more than double what I was told! And to think that I would scramble to pay that just because it was the night before my move was silly thinking on his part. No way, no how was I paying that, and his response was, "so what are you going to do?" Now I was furious because I should have been asking him that question. There was no responsibility taken for the fact that I was being told two VERY different prices. To further anger me he said that he no longer wanted to do the move or talk to be about doing business at all. Call me crazy, but that was the most disgusting, poorly executed display of business etiquette that I'd ever experienced. Of course no movers came the next day and he left me out to dry, but fortunately I was able to find movers to do the job at an even lower price with much more class and taste. I can only speak for myself, but I would NEVER recommend this company to a friend....or an enemy for that matter.
The TERRIBLE MOVE! The experience of moving by Sawyers Move for only 70 miles distance to Raleigh, NC was a totally a nightmare! I chose them because the owner Mr. Chris Sawyer answered phone quickly and arranged the moving date early, but no one showed up on scheduled time 1:00pm, they forgot it. The owner kept saying the driver was on the road. 2 hours later, they found a driver, but it was too late to reach the new apartment before office close, I had to change the move to the next day. The owner didn't say a word of sorry. The next day, two young boys came to move and they broke the headboard of the bed. This is a very high grade, expensive cherry wood bed, they just repaired it by glue and it looked very obvious and awful throughout the whole headboard. The owner didn't compensate a dollar for the damage, nor they'd replace a headboard. I wanted to sue this company, but found they didn't even have an physical address but only mail box address, so it's hard to sue them! I'd like to tell this lesson to people: Please be careful to choose your moving company or it'll be strenuous and troublesome. Study well before choice and hope you make the move a smooth experience.
Sawyers did my move for me and did a super job, they packed all of my boxes, moved me from Raleigh NC to Apex NC . I have a large house with heavy furniture, it was a big move and Sawyers E Z Move made it a easy job, I was so happy with the way they did my local move I chose them because of their High BBB rating A+ and I highly rate them also, Thanks to Sawyers move masters for making my local move a moving that was easy!
I would recomend Sawyers based on the move they did for my family, I was very pleased with my move.
Sawyer's did a great job moving me. I moved from a 3,000 sq ft home and have lots of antiques. I couldn't have asked for more careful movers. I was very impressed with the care the movers took with my belongings. Great job!
