Warning: Additional fees for length/ thickness of hair! I bought a Groupon for $19 and went in for a trim/ cut/ blow dry. I had 4 or 5 inches cut off (per my request) but was told that they charge an additional $10 depending on length of cut and thickness of hair. I have ALOT of hair, and even though I have never before been charged an additional fee for the thickness, I can slightly understand due to the extra labor. But as for charging me to trim off 5 inches? Unheard of! Whether you trim 1 inch or 10- there is no difference. I have never heard of an additional fee for length or thickness but being that I was already there, I paid the additional fees. The stylist was nice, but the cut was awful. I realized when I saw her picture on her desk, she cut my hair the same style she had hers- it may work for her, but not for me. I ended up paying an additional $25 for fees/ tip and actually felt sick to my stomach when I left because of the waste of time/ money and gas I spent getting there.
I just wanted to take the opportunity to say what a WONDERFUL salon this is! From the time I made my appointment to the time I left the ladies at this salon were AMAZING! The receptionist was very helpful when making my appointment and was terrific while I was there. She greeted me with a smile, made small talk and offered me a beverage. My stylist was also so very helpful and friendly. I was unsure of the exact "change" I wanted. She gave me a thorough consultation and listened to me!! It was the best haircut I have ever had! I can not wait for my 5 weeks to go back. I will be telling all my friends and neighbors about this wonderful salon!
This is my second time coming back to this salon. The haircut and my stylist, Shannon, was amazing once again! Only being here twice now I really felt like part of their "family". It is a great atmosphere and very friendly staff and clients. I did miss the bubbly and friendly receptionist that took care of me the whole time I was there last time:(. I can not wait for my next appointment! I will be telling all my co-workers, neighbors and friends about this salon.
Went to this salon today. I used a groupon for a foil and haircut. I didn't know what to expect. It ended up being one of the best cuts and colors I've had! I loved my stylist. Turned out we had a lot in common and she was fun to talk to. The time flew by and since it's Saturday I'm going to take my new hair and go out!! With or without a groupon I highly recommend them!!! I will be back! Thank you so much!!
As a hairstylist of 10 years, I have had a difficult time finding a good stylist since I've moved states. I found a groupon and thought I'd give Tyler Day Salon a try... My stylist's name was Robin. I"m not sure if it's because I had a groupon or what, but she was so rude and obviously didn't like her job. I was not greeted with a hello, an introduction or even a smile. All she said was "come back". There was no consultation of what I wanted or the condition of my hair. I have long and thick hair and expected to pay more for my service because of the time...but a partial foil and haircut/style only took her one hour and twenty minutes. Not nearly enough time for a thourough/good job. It was rushed and you can't even tell I had highlights done. I tried telling her what type of highlights I wanted (this was after she mixed the color, since she rushed off to do that), and she didn't really care or ask what shade/size/style of highlights. I figure she does the same thing to everyone... Then afterwards she told me I should have told her I had previously colored my hair and it was damaged. Actually, that is a stylists' job to consult with the client! A client should never be blamed for the stylists incompetence.
The stylist next to me was very unprofessional as well, leading me to believe this salon is just not a decent place. It's price point is not low either ($110 for partial and haircut), so you'd expect to get a good service.
I was very disappointed with my service, especially since I am a professional and know what should/should not be done. Although I did not pay a huge amount with my groupon ($50 including tip), for me this is a lot of money to waste. Don't waste your money here!
Went to this salon for the first time yesterday. New to the area and needed something before I started a new job. Very friendly staff! They gave me suggestions of places to check out and helped me with navigating. I got a nice (and free!) glass of wine while I got my hair cut. Aside from the people being nice I absolutely love my cut! I gave it a day because it always looks good when I leave the salon but once I go home and do it myself it usually isn't as great. Did my hair this morning and it looks just as good as when she did it! If you haven't checked them out I suggest you do!!!
I've been going to this salon for about 3 years now and I love it!!! The woman that works the front desk is amazing. I walk in and she knows my name, knows my family, asks if I want anything to drink, and checks in with me during my appointment. My stylist is awesome. I have NEVER left without being happy. My color is always what I want and she has given me haircuts that are easy for me to do at home also. My usual service is foils and a cut and I consistently get compliments when I'm out. I really love that I feel like a family member when I'm there. Everyone talks and jokes around and makes me feel very welcome. I highly recommend them!!!
I wish I would have read Rupal R.'s review before I bought my groupon and wasted $100.
I have had one other Keratin treatment on my very thick, curly, frizzy hair & it was amazing!! My hair was smooth, shiny & straight when the treatment was done!!! When I left Tyler Day Salon, my hair was not entirely straight, dull & sticky!!! I'm not sure if the product was fake or if the stylist was inexperienced & didn't apply it the right way, but this treatment did NOTHING to my hair. (I waited the 96 hours she told me I had to before washing, so it's not like I washed it out too soon.)
Also, I didn't realize that a haircut was included in the price of the groupon. I had just gotten my haircut at my regular salon & the back of my hair was doing this weird flip thing so I asked if she could just "soften the edges" so it would lay better. Obviously she didn't listen because she hacked another inch off my hair and the layers are so uneven, it doesn't even make any sense as a hairstyle.
On a good note, the stylist was very nice, as was the receptionist, but that doesn't change the fact that she ruined my previously nice haircut and unfortunately, I didn't get the results that I expected from the Keratin treatment. I guess what they say is true, you get what you pay for.
WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
1) I got a Keratin hair treatment done last week. Trust me when I say this - my hair did not change at all!!! I basically just wasted $100 (I had a groupon) They did put in something, flat ironed it etc, but I'm guessing they use fake products or something. Dont know if it was only me jus cos I had a groupon or everybody else. But it is definitely fake. My hair is very much the same.
2) The hair stylist was very harsh with my hair, she had another appointment after mine. She just hurried up with mine and handled my hair very roughly.
3) The receptionist was very rude!!!
If you ask me, DO NOT GO HERE. Even after the groupon, you might think its cheap so lets give it a try...DONT! I just wasted my $100, please dont do the same mistake.
All the best! :)
Skip this place... – I recently went to Tyler Day Salon for the first time, and was not too impressed with their customer service. I found that the receptionist was a little rude. I thought that maybe she was having a bad day or that maybe it was because I was a first-time client, but she didn't even say thank-you when I paid and was ready to leave. I didn't even feel like leaving a tip, but I did since the stylist was ok. Overall, it was not the best experience or even the best haircut for a salon that is a little pricey, and I will not be a repeat customer!
Outstanding Salon with Amazing Service – Tyler Day Salon is hands-down the best salon in the Holly Springs/Fuquay area. Their prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere is modern and fun, and the customer service is amazing.
I've taken my entire family there for over two years now and have always been delighted with the stylists and the results of their work.
With three kids, it's important for me to be organized, and their receptionist is always helpful when I want to book our appointments out months in advance...which is definitely recommended as the calendar year wraps up.
