WHEN YOU SELL AN ITEM THAT THE MENU
SAYS CONTAINS TOFU, YOU SHOULD ACTUALLY DELIVER THE ITEM WITH IT. NOT TELL AFTER THAT YOU DECIDED NOT TO PUT TOFU IN THE DISH THAT DAY.
Vegan Hot Pot (vg)- an aromatic stew filled with fresh seasonal vegetables, udon noodles, and tofu $10
DOESNT ACTUALLY CONTAIN TOFU
Amazing food for omnivores and vegetarians. This place is off the beaten path, so I stumbled across it. It didn't look like much, but I was hungry and in the area. It was such a fortunate find! I will definitely be going back there with all of my friends. I had the vegan tacos, and they were phenomenal. I'm sure that anyone would love them. There are a lot of fresh seasonal options on the menu, so I know anyone would find something they'd like at Market Restaurant.
Uniquely wonderfull food with a great atmosphere. Highly recomended to us on visit to Raleigh. Kudos to Chef/owner for using beautifull Carolina's resources. Vegans are hard to please so don't use that as a recommendation try it and enjoy. Wonderfull experiance with fine culinary combinations for a pleasing surprise to your pallet. Fabulous atmospher and extremly clean and family friendly. You can't please all the people all the time, but you can please some of them some of the time...and we were pleased. Unique deserts to top of the dinning experiance. My palet is trained thanks to my father who was a chef for Antoine's in New Orleans. Bon Appetite!
The Absolute Worst Except for the Salad. If I could get away with giving no stars, I'd do so, however I'll give it 1 for the salad, which was fine. As for the entrees, this restaurant needs someone who knows how to put together foods to deliver something edible. Being that there were 2 in our party that are vegan, we decided to visit on my birthday. as they had a few vegan items on the menu. I ordered the chicken, and was informed that it wouldn't be available for at least 30 minutes, so I opted for the catch of the day as most of the rest of the menu at that time consisted of Goat entrees - not my favorite cuisine.. Speckled Trout, I believe was the catch, which came out greasy and tasteless. The vegan shepherd's pie tasted like the Loma Linda TVP that you get out of a can and there was absolutely no seasoning. Had to call the waiter over as he was chatting with 2 others at the bar (his butt to our face the whole time) and sent the trout back. He offered the chicken as an option at this point, but I was disgusted with the whole experience and the birthday girl left with no dinner. The manager never came over to speak with us & the server said under the circumstances, they wouldn't charge us for the trout, as if doing us a great favor - mighty big of them. Needless to say both myself & my husband have been restaurant managers for over 20 years. We ended up at another restaurant downtown & totally enjoyed a tapas meal. Never going back there again.
