Excellent fresh food! – My boyfriend and I went here last weekend and had the freshest most delicious Mexican food. The lovely server told us their food is never frozen and you can tell. We had the guacamole and the Mango shrimp appetizers which were amazing. My boyfriend (who is from Texas and adores Mexican food) loved the food here. He had the enciladas verdes and I had the crunchy corn tacos with mahi mahi. We were both impressed. Very fresh flavorful dishes. We also split the fried ice cream even though we were full and it was so worth it! Delicious! Highly recommended, I read the previous ratings about the service but we did not have that problem one bit. Maybe they've hired new people since January.
Horrible Service, Mediocre Food – Horrible, slow service.! This was our first time here and I am NOT impressed on the least! Every excuse under the sun basically forgetting about our table. service sucks. No one came back to our table for a full hour to offer not even water. Pouring our own wine as I type this. My guess is that the won't last through 2011 if they keep this up -live review as I am sitting here...update. The owner or manager stopped by to ask how everything was. We told him 1 hour and 15 minutes has gone by and we JUST got our food. He didn't really seem to care at all. Then...wait for it...my BIGGEST pet peeve of all - the classic BS offer of a free dessert. What make you think that after sitting at a table for almost 2 hours I want to sit there for another -God knows how long -to get some frozen and thawed dessert! The food was just OK. I had the Relleno special. The cheese inside was clumped together and separated - not smooth. It as a bit dry. The "whole avacado" guacamole for an appetizer must have been the size of a tangerine, because there was less than 2 Tbsps of guacamole in total. The rice was quite dry. This was our first and now last experience here....
Café Capistrano - “An Affordable, Authentic Mexican Restaura – With two locations in the Raleigh-Durham, NC area, we tired the Cary location. It is not as well known of a destination, but with restaurants as delicious as Café Capistrano Restaurant, it may well become the latest hot spot. The restaurant can be found nestled in the Carpenter Village area. Do not miss this one of a kind restaurant. We went for the first time in July 2010, and have been back several times. The food is excellent; the staff is incredible. The service is spectacular. They go out of their way to guarantee an outstanding dining experience. Not to mention the live music, outdoor patio, so you can watch people strolling by. They have a HUGE selection of quality tequilas and the best margaritas you will ever taste.
We always have excellent service, and our appetizers and food did not take long to come to the table. Our drinks were promptly replaced as soon as they were near empty. The tomato salsa had a great flavor, guacamole was tasty and chunky, and the queso dip with or without beans is delicious.
I have ordered the Burrito entrée, the enchiladas, and soft flour tacos with pork. The enchiladas are simply the best I have ever had, and I have had them all over the place. The enchilada sauce is sublime. The beans, tacos and burrito are fabulous as well. Although, with each entrée I could only eat 1/2 because they portions were very large.
Love the ambience! Wonderful experience. We were very pleased with everything about this restaurant. The setting is fun, casual, happy and friendly, and the service is always great. This is a GREAT restaurant that you can feel comfortable coming with your family, friends, or co-workers. This is the finest place for authentic Mexican food in area. Since I started going here, I have never stopped and I have never had a meal that was not good. The friendliest service, the best food, and AWESOME Margaritas make it a necessity to visit as often as possible.
