Great cut from Steven. I had gotten a really bad cut at another salon and was looking for someone new to fix it. I saw all the great reviews on Citysearch, so I decided to give Alter Ego a try. I got an appointment for the same week with Steven, and he did a terrific job fixing my hair. He was also very personable and really knows what he's doing. I've gotten so many compliments on my new cut...I'll definitely be going back to Steven!

Amazing Service and Talent!. I wanted a new cut at a reputable salon, so I did some searching online and Alter Ego was the first on the list and after reading some great reviews I decided to book an appointment. They asked me what sort of hair I had and I said that I had rather long hair so they suggested Trevor as my stylist. I have never gone to a hair salon more than once because I never felt like it was worth my money. I would tell my stylist what my hair does naturally and I wanted a cut that complimented my naturally wavy thick hair, but I was always given a hair cut that only looked good if I straightened it.

When I sat down in Trevor’s chair I told him what I wanted and he really listened to what I was saying and took the time to understand what I wanted. I never felt rushed or like my opinion on my hair was invalid. I have not gone to any other salon since my first cut with Trevor, nor do I plan to. I love seeing Trevor and I always walk out of the salon on cloud 9. The staff is amazingly friendly and the salon so very clean and inviting. Trevor has given me the best cut I have ever had in my life and I love my cut! What more can I say?? Go to Alter Ego and see Trevor!!!

Awesome cut!!!. I was finally able to convince myself to cut my long curly hair super short, and all I needed was a salon. I did some research, and happened upon Alter Ego. The reviews were great, and I was impressed by the experience that all their stylists have. I decided to book an appointment with them, and the receptionist that I spoke to was nothing but friendly and helpful. When I came in for my appointment, I was pretty much immediately asked if I cared for anything to drink. I was seated in the waiting area, and after a few minutes Dana walked over and took me to her chair. I'd brought in pictures of exactly the cut that I wanted, and she was very good at figuring out what was done in that cut. Long story already kind of long, I ended up with the most amazing hair cut I could have asked for. Dana did a fantastic job, and throughout the whole process asked me what I'd be comfortable with, etc. I have nothing negative to say, everything's great, and I will definitely be going back!

Alter Ego . . . Best Salon in Raleigh. I came to Raleigh from Chicago, and never thought I would find a salon and hairdresser as good as the person I had on Oak Street in Chicago -- but then I found Dana at Alter Ego! My hair has never looked better; my color is phenomenal, my cut is contemporary, but professional, and I have been delighted with every service I have experienced at this very cool salon (including eyebrow wax and manicure/pedicure). I have been as customer since they opened almost two years ago -- I love this salon!

fabulous, would never go anywhere else. i highly recommend alter ego! i have never had a bad experience and am always ecstatic about the way my hair looks and feels when i leave. i see dana , one of the owners, and i would recommend her for anyone! trevor is also an excellent choice for a stylist. the salon is beautiful, in a great location downtown, and the people who work there only add to the wonderful experience!

I Will Never Go Anywhere Else. I have been going to the same stylist for the past 3 years. I can only speak for her cuts - I will NEVER go to anyone else ever. She has never let me down. I ALWAYS get compliments on my hair. She has cut my hair long, short, simple, complex, trendy and not trendy - all has been perfect. 5-6 of my friends, and my fiancee are seeing her. They have been seeing her for about 2 years now.

The service is always friendly, I am always offered a drink and I always feel welcome and comfortable.

Scheduling Nightmare. I have been trying to make an appointment for the three weeks here. The first appointment I made they got completely wrong and called to tell me I missed a scheduled appointment when the appointment was for three weeks out. I rescheduled and then they canceled my appointment two days before. What a nightmare! I had planned a special weekend for my mom and I here, but we will be going somewhere else since they canceled our appointment.

Incredibly Talented!. I had been going to the same stylist for 3 years and it got to the point where I could never get an appointment so I decided to "salon shop." I tried several places until I came across Alter Ego. After the first time, I was hooked. Trevor did my hair and I have never been so satisfied with a hair cut and color in my whole life. He took the time to really go over what style and color worked best for me. I have recommended him to several of my friends and they have all ditched their stylist for him.

Whether you are new to the area, looking to change salons, or don't have a regular someone you see, you need to make alter ego your one stop stylin' shop. Easy online appointments as well.
