Alienating regulars in process. Most of the bartenders are quirke as are many of the patrons-it's fun that way. I suppose it's the replacement bartender staff with all the attitude and close mindness. Lost an almost regular cash paying customer who used to feel relaxed and comfortable there...in about two minutes-classless and uncalled for confrontation-I'm tough! crap instead of gentle and easy. First time seeing this clown. I may give it another shot-It's ashame really, since Gary whistles such a good tune while he works. COMFORT LEVEL is gone, though.

Bad attitude towards customers.. I've been here twice. On the first occasion, a waitress was serving our table. It was fairly difficult to order additional drinks because she rarely made it back to us, but it wasn't too bad.

The second time I came here, I had to order drinks at the bar. After ordering my first drink, the bartender cursed and proceeded to complain about having to make my drink and started talking about how it was the end of his shift and he was ready to go.

Considering the hefty dose of attitude you get with your drinks, along with how much they cost, it's just not worth going here. I won't be going back.

Ponytail Bouncer was a nightmare. I'm from out of town and my friends took me there last night. It was crowded and the service was slow, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We had a terrific night until the end of the night. Ponytail Bouncer proceeded to shout at the crowd to get out of the bar. This was the second the clock struck 2am. I'm sorry, but I don't spend a lot of cash at an establishment to be yelled by the bouncer at the end of the night. Not only did he shout, he also used profanity. Since when is that okay for a business? He was by far the worst service industry worker I've ever run into. I've been to many establishements in my lifetime and this guy needs to be fired. He is on an ego trip like no other. Will not be going there again on my next visit to Raleigh.

Ponytail bouncer needs to get over himself!. Was there last night with 3 friends, and while the atmosphere was fun, it was very crowded which led to slow bar service. Agree with the other reviewer (even though it's obviously someone who works there) - the Andy Dick lookalike bartender was quite good with keeping the tab straight, and all of the barbacks were quite pleasant despite the slow service, which was undoubtedly due to the crowd. However, the guy at the door seriously needs an attitude adjustment. He certainly thinks he's all that (he isn't), and if I've just dropped a large amount of money in your establishment, I don't expect to be shouted out of the place at 1 minute past closing - at least let me finish the drink I paid for. Unfortunately, I won't go back if this guy is still on the door - would rather go across the street to the Raleigh Times.

Interesting crowd, not too smoky. The Landmark bar itself is beautiful wood, and the mirrors and wood behind the bar make you feel comfortable. The space is long, with lots of bar seats, and also tables for more privacy. The music is never too loud for conversation, and they play the important games on the one flat-screen at the end of the bar (though many times I've seen the TV turned off--which is good!). While smoking is allowed, the smoke fans do a great job of making the place not smell smoky. Plus, when the weather's nice, the doors are open to the patio out back which is really nice (and there are heaters for when it's chilly).

Beers on tap are a mix of essentials (PBR!) and microbrews (Big Boss, Bell's, etc). Good selection of bottles, too. Sorry, can't speak for wine selection, but I rarely see anyone drinking wine.

The crowd at Landmark is the best part--they're normal people. It's an older crowd than Glenwood South, I'd say 25-40s, so no loud frat boys, but it's also not your grungy dive bar. Professionals and blue-collars alike go to Landmark, so there's always somebody interesting to talk to.

Service is also good, especially with the crazy-haired bartender who usually gets your tab right without you having to tell him your name. I do wish the bartenders were a little more attentive to my empty glasses, but I don't really mind having to ask for another beer. I love Landmark!
