Maryland seafood in North Carolina. The is very good an authentic Maryland style food. My husband is from Baltimore and this is the only place we have found that is true to Maryland style food. Maryland crabs...good. The owners are from Maryland and they put it down. Love it and going back tomorrow for a birthday dinner.

The best crab cakes I have had since I have been here.. Do not let the decor deter you as this food is delicious. The crab cakes are very meaty and has minimal breading. The staff is very personable. The food is a bit pricey but is worth it. I placed this restaurant in my top ten spots.

Very helpful and friendly. Our waitress was very helpful and even tought me how to eat blue crab every thing was a little expensive but well worth it portion size was nice and food tasted great. We will definately be going back soon

Fried, Fried, Fried. Gee, we may be living in the south, but Backfins fries all the fish and seafood... good fish should be baked or broiled. i will not be returning to this restaurant.

Authentic Maryland Crabcakes!!! Amazing to say the least!. I heard about Backfins from a great friend who wouldn't stop talking about how amazing the crabcakes were. I finally decided to go and find out for myself if this place was as good as they told me. Well, I walked in the door and right away felt like I was back on the coast! The laid back environment, extremely friendly waitstaff, and the owners (who are from Maryland) coming by to say hello, really welcomed us and made us feel like we were home. And the crabcakes?... Wow!!! I've never had better! We have been back to Backfin's at least once a week ever since and tried out various menu items and have never been dissapointed! This little Wake Forest treasure is a blessing to all searching for a taste of the coast in the triangle!

Best Crabcakes in NC, make that the country!. There might be brown paper tablecloths and plastic cutlery, but make no mistake, Backfins is the finest seafood around. Service is great! The crabcakes are sensational! The crabs are steamed to perfection! The peel and eat shrimp are huge! Everything on the menu is awesome! My wife and I eat at Backfins regularly, we just can't get enough!

JUST WOW. I have been to Backfins at least six times and can't stop raving about the place. They save me a trip to Maryland all the time. These guys really know how to do it "Maryland style" and if your not a crab eater check out their very large Peel and Eat shrimp. Hope to see you there. One of the Triangles true Gems!!

disappointed. Been there twice and both times the service was no good.First time waitress was no where to be found and the second time there seemed to be more important things to do than rather than helping us.
