Gone Downhill....
Back when my husband and I were NCSU students dating we loved this place and ate here at least once/week. This went on for years until they stopped giving you a whole "free sandwich" for your stamped card and instead gave you $6 then changed the menu so nothing except lunch specials was under that amount (of course you couldn't redeem your card on those specials). We grumbled but we still came to eat there. Then out of no where they started making you pay for fry refills. That would not be a problem except over half the time you go...you get the nasty cold and soggy fries that you want to exchange for fresh crispy ones.
Not knowing that they changed that, I went to get more fries because mine were crappy with my lunch special....and lo and behold the manager told me they did away with that special and I'd have to pay for the refill to replace the nasty fries they gave me. This was 2008 or 2007, we did not return and moved out of the area. A few months ago we moved back and even closer to Remington's than we were at NCSU. After several months at eating at all the OTHER eateries around Remington we decided to give them another try---WRONG. We weren't miffed when my usual sandwich was no longer on the menu as they could make it for $1.00 off the base price. I didn't bat an eye over paying fifty cents for THREE mini slices of jalapenos. I had good quality chicken on my sandwich and adding some banana peppers it was tasty (of course I had crappy fries though, cold and soggy). My husband got a steak sandwich which name escapes me but might start with an "s." Fatty and absolutely disgusting...I would not even feed that to the dog much less purchase that for human consumption. After cutting those parts out most of his meat ended up on the "trash" plate so he ended up with bad fries and a very sorry sandwich. That's the last money of ours that goes to Remington's, we'll be frequenting Bear Rock, Salsaritas, the new noodle place, Dickies or Chickfila if we eat in that area again.
