Excellent Food & Service. The food was excellent. The appetizers were delicious and inexpensive. I had lamb as my main course and it was seasoned so well that I crave it all the time now. Meal came with a salad, rice, and bread and I had to take half of it home. Our server was very courteous and attentive. Our drinks never sat empty and he brought all of the sauces to us to try and patiently explained each one. I am looking forward to a return visit.

Please give this place a try. We decided to try this place on a whim and we are very glad that we did. The service was great, checked on us at all the right times. Our waiter was very pleasant. I love the decor in there, it is nothing special but it just feels nice. The food was very good and can't wait to try more next time. There were several other people there and I overheard some of them say that they are regulars...we will be too. The price was good as well....2 entrees and one app for $30....we drank only water. Please give this place a try, it was a nice change from all the other restuarants in town.

Great food and service!. Wow - the previous reviewers must not haven eaten at the same restaurant we did!

We ate here today, with two adults and two kids. Service was outstanding. The waiter constantly checked to make sure we were enjoying our meals, and brought us two desserts (firnee - which is a delicious pudding that doesn't taste like anything I've ever had before - and baklava) on the house. After that, the adults were offered Turkish coffee on the house. I wasn't sure since I'm not really much of a coffee drinker, but it won me over- I wish there was somewhere closer to me where I could get that on a regular basis.

As for the food, we had chicken korma, shrimp kebabs, lamb tikka and lamb steak. The chicken was so tender it just fell apart in your mouth, and those that ate the lamb said it was the best they had ever tasted. Even the two eleven year old picky eaters cleaned their plates.

Absolutely worth the drive from Durham - we will definitely be going back!

It is not even Afghani food!!. I went with my family the other day for lunch. We ordered two half chickens one Tandori and one spicey. We ordered also beef kebabs. The chicken halves came with only thighs and drum sticks and no breasts or white meat. the taste was awful. On the menu they say Fire-Grilled but all chicken pieces were actually fried. The Tandori chicken tasted nothing like Tandori. The beef kebabs were almost not even cooked, we can see they are oozing bloode. The service was awful also. We had to leave 15 mins after our food was served since we could not even eat it. I will never ever go there and by the way this is not Afghani food and people are not Afghanis and this is not Afghani cuisine

Service is a JOKE!!. Somebody recommended that we go to Unaabi Grill, so we decided to try it last night. I made reservations, like the website recommended. We were seated rather promptly, but were not handed menus. After sitting there for a while, we decided we wanted to be seated outside because of the too high air conditioning. We were seated outside and waiter came to the table. He took our drink order. He returned 15 minutes later with 3 of the beverages, but the not the 4th, which was tea, saying it would be out shortly. We placed our orders for food. About 15 minutes later, he returned with our salads but no silverware, and never returned with any. My husband had to go in and ask. They still didn't bring any silverware, so finally we asked another waitress to bring us some. She returned with only forks, no knives or napkins. Still no tea. We asked our waiter for napkins. He returned with a bunch of napkins and just left them. Still...no tea. When I asked, he rudely replied Ï don't know where your tea is. There was no "but I'll check for you" or any apologies. We then sat for another 1/2 hour, no food, no tea. Another table that was sitting near us, had been seated after us already had there meals....and TEA! Then, there was a couple seated before us, with nothing either. We decided we had waisted 1 hour, were famished, and the whole seen was ridiculous. We left money to cover our beverages and went to another restaurant. I have no idea if the food was good or not, but I won't be back to find out.

do not recommend. We ordered a lamb kebab and chicken korma. It took both of us to ask three times for bread and water. When bread was served, there was literally two pieces of it in the basket. The main entrees were finally served after a long wait as well. Rice occupied two thirds of the plate. A hill of rice -- I'm not kidding. As for the other one third of the plate, it was jus. The piece of chicken was so small compared to the rest of the dish. Lamb was well seasoned but overcooked. We spent around $40 on food and didn't feel full. What a rip-off!

Chicken tasted good. I also like the atmosphere and decor. However, I wish there'd be more "main dish" than fillers, and maybe I'll go back again.

Not impressed upon first visit, will try again. At the corner of Kildaire Farm and Maynard, this converted Pizza Hut building houses Cary's first and only Afghan restaurant.

Not having written this place off yet, I was not impressed with the food during my recent lunch visit.

The chicken rice plate was bland in taste and worst of all the sauce was too watery. The bread was nothing special, and had the consistency of store bought second rate naan.

The building is one of those 'classic' Pizza Huts, and it still sadly shows this on both inside and out.

I will revisit and give a second chance, but I do believe the odds are against Unaabi Grill sticking around if they don't improve in all facets of operation.

Very very good!. When I went to this place for the first time, quite honestly I was skeptical. The weekend before this we had been to this restaurant (Solomom's) near Brier Creek, with an intention to try a new restaurant and the best word to describe the experience is -FIASCO!

Anyway, back to writing my review for Unaabi Grill! When you enter this place, you instantly feel at home.Food here is close to Indian food. My husband had ordered Lamb Korma and a friend had ordered the Chicken korma, both were cooked to perfection.Succulent and tender! For the Vegetarians, you have a good menu to choose from! Cauliflower, Okra, Spinach- was tasty.

Each main course order is served with hot Afgan bread (which is pretty close to the naans) and basmati rice with just a hint of spice!

Writing this review, I m hungry again!

So all you people out there, give it a chance and you won't regret!

Best new restaurant in Cary!!. Tried out the restaurant after hearing good things about it. The food was great. Meat was tender and cooked perfectly. Extensive and tasty vegetarian choices. Even the rice was delicious! Overall the food was great without being over-spicy. Service is usually not the strong point in such ethnic restaurants but we were surprised by the friendly, courteous and professional service. The owner even offered us some hot tea at the end of the meal - free of charge! If you like Indian, Middle-eastern or Mediterranean cuisine, you will love this place. Hopefully the place will do really well without sacrificing their quality and service.
