Raleigh >Roomstore Furniture
Where's my furniture???!!!!!. I purchased some bedroom furniture from room store July 8th!!! I was told that my headboard would be delayed (2weeks). Two weeks came and went and I hadn't heard anything from them. I followed up and was told it would not be there until the 8th of August!!! At this point I'm LIVID!!! I spoke with the manager and he offered free delivery for my inconveniences. Although I wanted to decline the offer, I accepted it knowing that I would not have to worry about finding someone to lug my bedroom set up several flights of stairs. LO and behold, it?s the 10th and I still DO NOT have my furniture and not one type of communication was made to inform me of the holdup. The customer service I received SUCKED!!!!! Phone calls were not returned and my sales representative could?ve cared less-I haven?t heard from him since the sales went through!!! (Must have received his commission by now) I was then told that they did not have a definite date as to when I would even receive my headboard at this point. Do NOT purchase furniture from them UNLESS you need it next year-seems like that?s when I?ll receive mine!!! Oh, and expect 8-10 weeks to process your refund!!!!!!
They're on commission!.
My fiance and I are looking to buy a new mattress. Two weeks ago we began our search and we stopped into a few furniture places down capital blvd. The first place we stopped was at Roomstore.
The woman greeted us and asked how she could be of help. We were laying on all sorts of mattresses and trying them out. She was telling us the difference between all of them. She kept pressuring us to make a decision when we already told her that this was just our first stop.
All we got from our experience was that she worked on commission. It was highly unprofessional. She was like "Remember, I'm on commission so don't forget my name!" "I'm on commission so I'd appreciate the sale." "I'm on commission, I'm on commission, I'm on commission!" This was turning into a nightmare! It was all about her and her commission.
Of all the places that we went that day, Roomstore definitely had the WORST customer service. We didn't even care about their product at this point because all she wanted to talk about was making a sale and getting her commission.
At the end of it all, we were walking out the door and she wrote down her name and everything in case we wanted to call and speak to her on the phone and make our purchase that way. She also took my fiance's name and phone number. We politely thanked her and moved on to the next store.
Every other place that we went, we were educated about the beds, warranty, everything that mattered to US. The other stores may or may not have been on commission, we never heard about it. The associates were friendly, asked us what we liked, and offered to do all that they could for US.
In this economy everything should be about the customer. No customer cares if an associate is on commission. As a customer, I care about the quality of the product that I'm purchasing and that's going to be in my house for a long time. More importantly, I care to feel like that's also important to the sales associate. No customer will feel this way when all that they hear about is their commission.
We were confident that we made the right decision a couple of weeks later when the sales associate from Roomstore called my fiance to follow up with him. He said "We decided to go somewhere that offered better prices, and more importantly, better customer service. She plainly didn't care to hear where she messed up, or to ask how she could improve. She hung up on my fiance.
Buy from somewhere else!!
horrible customer service. This was my first AND LAST purchase at the room store. When I made my purchase I got the delivery, which was not cheap. I thought it was odd they wanted me to write out direction and did not tell me the start location. I suggested they use Google maps. The sleeper sofa came for delivery on time but there were issues. The delivery people were shoving the sleeper sofa into the room. It was clear that the legs needed to come off but it was not until my door was damaged and there was a tear on the back of my brand new sleeper sofa that the legs were taken off. I was then told that I would be taken care of for the damage done. No one seemed sorry or the least bit concerned about the damage. Well, it took over 1 month’s and about 20 phone calls to get the delivery fee refunded. I was passed around and every time I talked to the same person he acted like he had never talked to me and gave me the same line. Finally I was told the store was waiting for me to call them to get the refund. I don’t know why I was not told this in the first place. It appears they were trying to drag it out so I would give up on the refund for the damage. This is a very unprofessional company with HORRIBLR customer service. I will never again purchase anything from them and I suggest you do not either.
Okay furniture, don't expect any help after your warranty..
I purchased a Wexford table and six chairs from the Roomstore on Capital Blvd. in November of 2007. The service at the time of purchase was very good. When I bought the table, the delivery was set up promptly and set up was done with no problems. I didn't even have to wait very long. A day, maybe?
Over the last year, I've kept table extended with the leaf in it. Recently, I decided to put the leaf in the table to see what it looked like in the space I had. When I didn't like it, I went to pull the table back apart and... nothing happened. Through much work and muscle, I've figured out that there's something blocking one of the tracks that's causing the problem. I've got the table extended again for now, but it needs work. It won't go back together very easily and there's clearly a line where the table does not come together properly and you can see through to the floor.
Here's where it gets tricky. I called Roomstore, knowing and fully expecting to pay for service technicians because my year warranty was up on the table. They said that they do not have repair in-store and that I'd have to call customer service. So I did that, and they helpfully told me that there was nothing they could do because my warranty was up. They said that Roomstore does not employ any technicians for any of the four stores in this area, but they could give me the number of the place they contract through. Third phone call of the day had me talking to some lady who said they only did service contract work. I called the store again, only to be told that there was nothing they could do for me.
So here I am, stuck with a table that is 1 year and 4 months old, but can't find anyone affiliated with the company who sold it to me that's willing to help me fix the thing.
