So happy I waited!. I researched getting a piercing and Pro*Gress was recommended to me by all my friends. I read all the reviews on this site and was thoroughly impressed. I called and asked Seth a few questions, he put me right at ease, told me to come on in, he had time to see me immediately. I can't begin to explain how professional and knowledgeable Seth is with his piercing. He took the time to draw a picture and explain anatomy and placement and straight versus curved to me. Totally stoked...would recommend to any and all. Do not compromise!!

The ONLY Place. I went to this place quite a bit in college. I took out most of my piercings when I graduated, but I recently decided to get one back. I knew I was not going to go anywhere but this place. It is very clean and comfortable. I've only been pierced by Seth and Lee, and they are both very professional and will always tell you what is best for you. Want a piercing? Go to a place that specializes in it and not a tattoo place that just happens to do body piercings. Pro-Gress is the ONLY place to go for piercings.

Not a people person?. After 2 weeks of obsessive research, and a 2 hour drive each way I went to Pro-gress Body Piercing in Raleigh today for a very intimate piercing. They have the very best reviews and the most experience in NC, from what I've found.

I've been very excited for this day, I was as ready as anyone can be for what I was about to do. I had called and spoken with Lee last week; he seemed to "get it" when I told him my reasoning behind the piercing, and he very patiently asked my many questions. Very nice and knowledgeable - I felt good about my choice.

Today I arrived for my noon appt, and Lee was not there - Seth was. I don't know if he was having a bad day, or if he is always so cold to people. I started to tell him my reasoning behind the piercing, but quickly got that he didn't really care, so I stopped talking. But I know he knows his stuff, so I was still okay with this. I drove 2 hours for a safe piercing from a piercer who knows what he is doing; I knew I would get that still.

He did not talk with me beforehand, didn't explain the process - he just did the job. The pain was different than I thought it would be - not worse, just different and very surprising. I grabbed his hand at one point - the pain was such that I guess I was willing to do whatever it took to get it to stop. That seemed to piss him off. Luckily, I did not do any damage in the process.

He did not let me choose my jewelry, though many other places do. When I asked how long before I could get the jewelry I really wanted, he asked, "Well, what did you really WANT??"

Anyway, the process was pretty cold and lonely for a first-timer like me, and if I go back, I will make sure my appt is only with Lee. Seth answered my questions afterward. However, he did so without looking me in the eye. This seemed very odd, considering he had just seen me in a very compromising position.

Terrific for my daughter's ears!. This place was wonderful! Having never been to a body piercing shop, I was a bit nervous about going with my 10 year old daughter for her ear piercing, but several friend's bad experiences convinced me to try somewhere other than the mall. These guys were great - gentle, good with kids, knowledgeable. It may be more pricey than the mall - but it's cheaper than getting it done at the mall and then going to the doctor's! My daughter felt very little pain from the very sterile instruments - and her ears looked perfectly normal (with the addition of cute little earrings) within 30 minutes!
