Food was decent, everything else not really.. Went there several days ago with my girlfriend and was so disappointed with our experience that I decided to write this. The place was a lot smaller than I thought. But that's beside the point, I went there for the food because I had heard some good things about it, unfortunately it didn't go so well for us. First, as we walked in the restaurant there was no one there to greet us. I don't claim to be a genius in the restaurant industry but I think that is pretty important. Second, the sushi we ordered took forever to prepare (what felt like about 25-30 minutes from the time we ordered) despite the fact that the restaurant was not busy, if they were getting slammed, i can understand, but at that time I would say the restaurant was at about 50 percent capacity. Actually, we noticed another table that came in a bit after us getting their food before us. I'm usually not this picky, but during the wait we hardly saw our waitress nor did she bother to at least inform us that the food was still on the way. On top of that, during the wait we have to watch what seemed like pissed off sushi chefs making sushi.

After the food finally came, things were a little better as the sushi actually wasn't bad at all. Unfortunately, the events leading up to my meal definitely put me in a bad mood to eat. Sadly I will not be making any return visits. There are other nearby places that are worth trying. The only thing preventing me from giving this a 1 star rating was the fact that their sushi train was very cool.

Great Sushi!. Our family loves this restaurant. We have two small kids who enjoyed only chicken nuggets and macaroni until we took them to Mizu. They loved the sushi train and now they both enjoy sushi. When we aren't with the kids, my husband and I will visit and there's never a wait at the sushi bar. We visited this past weekend and were surprised to receive a Gift Certificate when we paid our bill. They gave us the GC for being one of their regular customers as a Christmas gift. I can't remember the last time a business did something like this for their customers. Very nice!

Our family LOVES Mizu!. Our family loves dining at Mizu. We go with our two children and they love the train. There is never a long wait when sitting at the sushi bar and the staff is very nice. We have never had a bad experience since our 1st visit. It's our favorite place to go out alone or with our kids. Great sushi!

Steer clear of this disaster. This place does not take reservations which is fine as many places in Raleigh do not, but they have no waiting area or bar. You wait in a 4"x8" entrance way with no seating, this went over well for 30 minutes with my 5 year old. When we did sit the wait staff was some of the worst I have ever encountered. We had a group of 6 adults and 3 children and all ordered at the same time- some sushi, some from the menu. Food was coming out sporadically and in no particular order- 1 salad, then a partial sushi order, couple more salads, cup of soup, another partial sushi order, then an appetizer. At that point I had to ask for my dinner and was told the other stuff was ordered first, which was a lie as I was the first person to order at the table, that is why it came out first. Never heard such a thing in my life- I thought dinner was served by the course not the order the waitress wrote it down. Of course at the end they didn't fail to add in their 18% mandatory gratuity.

Awesome Food. Have been here twice now. The 1st time was better than the 2nd, however, both times were very good. Sometimes there is quite a wait so make sure you do take that into account. There is sushi seating at the bar and booths open for larger parties. Great place to have dinner before catching a movie. I have ordered off the steak menu both times and the food was fantastic! HIghly Recommended.

Great sushi. Great steaks. Great service. Great ambience.. This is my first review of a Triangle restaurant, but I was highly impressed with this place so I felt compelled to write about it. Although the restaurant is small, it is arranged in a way so you still feel like you are tucked away in a private corner. The ambience is modern with low lighting and the sushi bar is in the center median of the restaurant which provides ample bar seating and access to the sushi train. The variety and quality of sushi was fantastic - and I can assure you that I have eaten my fair share of sushi. We also ordered from the steak menu, but I didn't think it would be that good - I was very wrong. The steak was tender and flavorful and much better than some of the more upscale steakhouses in this area, I would say, and was accompanied by delicious (and not overcooked) seasonal vegetables. Also, I was worried that this place would not be suitable for family dining, but there were many families there along with young and older couples - basically, an eclectic group of patrons - I liked that, too. The wait staff was very attentive, but not intrusive which I definitely appreciate. Lastly, I was forewarned about the prices, but I found them to be very reasonable and comparable to any other quality sushi house in the area. I highly recommend this place for a nice night out, families or dates. Since this place is close to our home, I have no reason to drive thirty minutes anymore for great sushi!
