Thanks for saving Christmas!!!. My 52 Samsung LCD was giving me problems starting up, the TV would just make a clicking noise for roughly an hour and then would power on. I called Precision TV Repair and they sent a technician out, he quickly diagnosed the problem and let me know that my model had a common problem and was able to repair it right on the spot!! I was given accurate information upfront before I scheduled the appointment and the technician was very knowledgeable I recommend these guys and again thanks for saving me the trouble and cost of having to replace this expensive television right here at christmas time!!!

Repsonse from Precision TV. Last review is for a customer Mr Stewart A. We have made several attempts to contact him regarding his 40 Samsung LCD. We are indeed still awaiting the parts for the unit. We have offered him a equivalent replacement set for him to take ownership of until we can receive all parts for his Samsung. We are unable to contact him, So if you happen to read this Mr. A then please contact us ASAP. We are always striving for great customer service, and we beleive that providing a great customer experience is the only way to do business. We have made changes so that every customer that calls in speaks to a repair technician this way most if not all your questions can be answered by a repair professional as opposed to a secretary if there is no answer we incourage you to please leave a message and your phone call will be returned, we do take full ownership of this review below and want to resolve it as soon as possible. We look forward to continue providing the people of the Triangle the absolute best service when it comes to repairing your electronics, So please read our reviews in full and give us a try!!

Not what I expected. Having read many positive reviews here about Precision TV Repair, I decided to call them for repairs needed on my 40" Samsung HDTV. To say I was disappointed is one whale of an understatement.

First, and to be totally fair, the first tech they sent out to examine the TV and diagnose the problem was terrific (his name is Nate). Professional, polished, knew his stuff. NO problems with this young man whatsoever.

The problems really started when, after he left following his original diagnosis of the problem, I called to say "let's go ahead with a repair" (if you agree to a repair within 30 days of the diagnostic visit, that cost gets rolled into the overall repair cost; a fair policy unto itself). I waited to hear back from the company regarding my parts, etc....and waited....and waited....and waited.

I finally called them to determine what was going on, only to find out that this fine field tech had been in a very nasty car wreck (God bless him; he survived but was badly banged up). Understandably this put them behind on my repair and I'm sure many others.....but whenever I called to get an update (they never called me) I was given some innocuous answer that never proved accurate (we're waiting on a part.......no, we can't get that part any longer.....no, it's been ordered and should have been in.....on and on, ad nauseum).

All customers really want is a straight answer. Period. Good, bad, otherwise....just give us a straight and honest answer.

So next, they send out a 'new' technician. Several months have now passed since the initial visit by Nate. Let me just say that this new guy was nowhere near the original tech's league. In fact, he came out to get some part #'s in an attempt to find an equivalent main power board from another manufacturer (fine....but why did this take months?). Then, this guy added insult to injury: He dropped my TV, broke a piece off of the base/stand for the TV, then placed it back up on a dresser (backward) so that the break wouldn't be seen. Of course, I saw it and found the piece he broke off. Not a huge deal, but he should have pointed it out. Instead, I had to call the company to request a replacement base/stand since their guy broke it.

Of course they agreed.....right? Wrong. The owner apparently tells this tech he needs to work it out with me or he has to pay for a new base/stand. So I start getting call after call from this guy; he even denies he broke anything, even blamed my girlfriend (who wasn't even in the room) for the break. Hand to God, you can't make this stuff up. By now......I'm royally pissed and more than fed up with such a shocking lack of professionalism.

This all dragged on for months; well over 6 months and counting. Think I'm going to give this company another penny? Nope. In fact, here's the next irony: They have taken SO long, that I can now replace that TV with a new or mfg. refurbished model, better specs, etc......for the same or less money than they want to fix it. That's a fact.

Everything I've said in this review is accurate and can be backed up by eyewitnesses, call notes, etc. I've even sugar-coated some of the worst parts of this experience.

In short....I believe these guys used to be good. I believe they got way behind when a key team member was injured and their business never fully recovered.

I'll never dial their number again.

Worst Customer Service Imaginable. My husband and I were VERY unhappy with the service we received from this company. We contacted them in June because our TV was broken. They sent someone out quickly, which was great. But that is where the good customer service ended. After the technician came and evaluated our TV we had a very difficult time getting in contact with anyone. When we did get in touch with them they said that our technician had been in a car accident (which we were very sorry to hear- he was very nice) but they seemed to be using that as an excuse to not know what was going on with the part for our tv. In order to talk with anyone we had to call multiple times and leave multiple messages. They always promised to call us back and never did. They explained that our part was on back-order, which we understand, but is there only one company that makes this part? After six weeks of unanswered phones and un-returned messages, our part finally arrived and they scheduled a time to come out and fix our TV. When the new technician arrived (who was also a nice man) IT WAS THE WRONG PART. I called (and again dealt with a series of unanswered calls and un-returned messages) and was told that the company sent them the wrong part. We were told that they would reorder the part and would fix our tv. That was the last time we heard from them. They didn't return any of our other phone calls. We finally gave up and bought a new TV. Both of the technicians who came to our house were very nice and seemed competent at their jobs. The management of this company, however, is terrible. They have not taken responsibility for one thing that happened during the process of fixing our TV. Do not use this company if you want to have your calls answered, messages returned, or TV fixed.

They made it right. After my earlier less than satisfied posts - Precision TV did a great job of coming and fixing the color wheel on time with great customer service.

My faith in them has been restored and my tv is now working great. As long as they keep going like this I will continue to use them and recommend them highly

Response to previous comment. Last review is from Oak Park Electronics, this claim has no merit, This is one of two accusations from Oak Park Electronics that we (Precision TV) has written negative reviews on them. We at Precision TV believe that is unethical and bad business practice and we 100% deny this accusation. As for years we have been recommending Oak Park Electronics for repairing items that we do not service such as camcorder's, microwaves, DVD players and other small electronics, and for the most part Oak Park is one company that we do not get complaints on, which leads us to believe they are a good company, and believe it we do hear plenty of horror stories involving other companies. We will not be recommending Oak Park any longer.

Mr. Kaleel we ask that if there is something that you would like to say or ask regarding Precision TV that you take the high road and contact us directly at 919-342-0308 instead of making false accusations and slandering our great reputation.

excellent service from start to finish. Daniel, a technician for Precision, did a great job, and my experience with Precision has been excellent. I called and left a message on Wednesday, talked with Precision later that day, and made an appt. for Saturday morning.

As I was told, Daniel called an hour ahead, to confirm, and arrived right on time. He was very nice, pleasant, friendly, and professional the whole time. He stated that he owned the same TV that I have, except in a different size, so that gave me confidence, too.

He walked in, and within 30 seconds had the 55-inch Mitsubishi TV (manufactured 11-2002) acting perfectly, by fiddling with the buttons on the front of the TV. That told him that the buttons were the problem, which he stated was often the case.

He took the front of the TV apart, and tested the buttons. He replaced 5 of them which tested poorly. He also noted that the projection tubes on the inside of the TV had a good coat of dust, which he cleaned.

I asked him multiple questions, while he worked, just to learn from him, about this TV and buying new TVs, and he was very pleasant and educational.

He charged $300, which I thought was very fair, especially since I had read on the internet that repairs of TVs of this age and size can often be 2 or 3 times that. I had asked Precision, when I had talked with them on the phone, how much I might expect to pay, and they said that most of the time, it should be around $300 or less. Once again, very accurate and pleasing to me, especially considering how much a new TV could cost.

So, the TV is working perfectly, and the picture is as bright as brand new, since he cleaned it, also.

I could not be more pleased. I highly recommend them.

A Great Experience. After purchasing a very expensive television from an electronics store, it broke down within the warranty. Precision TV was the authorized service repair center and did a professional repair on our set. I was very happy with their service and would certainly use them both in and out of warranty. The part was on back order from the manufacturer but they worked with me and the manufacturer to find the part elsewhere. I have recommended them to other people and would certainly vuse their service again. Being in the service industry myself I felt they were sympathetic in my unhappiness and frustration at being without a tv.

Seemed Very Unprofessional!. The Tech came out and did not seem like he knew exactly what part was bad

Response From company. Issue Resolved. Nate our head/lead technician is on injury leave of absence, we were not sure who exactly wrote the review. The customer did call in this morning and by the customer screen name and problem we where finally able to locate the author or the previous post.

Notes indicate that customer has a Samsung LCD model LNR408dx Version SD01. The part needed for the repair is T-con circuit. Since this model is 1st generation LCD TV this part is not available separate from the LCD panel(screen). The screen replacement would exceed the cost of a new TV. The customer was informed of this immediately after diagnosis. We also suggested that part could come available second hand if he was interested. The customer requested we contact him if the part were to become available second hand.

The T-con circuit is currently still not available from any reputable part source. Notes from the stand issue state that the unit was initially hung on the wall. As per company policy we request of all customers that the entire Television must be accessible. The set was removed and accessible but placed incorrectly on an incorrectly assembled stand. No damage was done to this TV stand; it was simply not put together correctly from the start.

After speaking to the customer (Jakelb47) and explaining the situation of our week long closure of the store due emergency, the real question was that he just wanted to know if the part was ever going to become available or should if the TV should be disposed of.

We apologized for the delay and continue work diligently to make sure that our customers are informed and greeted with the best knowledgeable service available.
