Disappointing. Wow. Just, wow. I patronized Poppyseed quite a bit over the past couple of years and was always pleased with the quality and quantity of their food. It's been a year since I was last there, so I met up with some friends yesterday to enjoy a Poppyseed lunch - after boasting to one of them, a Poppyseed 'newbie,' about the place. Two of us ordered the 3-salads plate (where you get a choice of three salad items). After ringing up the nearly TWELVE bucks charge, I expected to see a very generous serving of each item coming my way. Boy, was I ever disappointed when my black bean salad, tuna salad, and green salad didn't even cover the plate! Each serving was just about 1/2 cup. Delicious, of course, but TWELVE bucks for that??? Their servings used to be far more generous. Anyway, I won't go back - in this economy, I can do better across the street at Whole Foods, and that 'ain't sayin' a lot!

SPECTACULAR!!. Nobody is lying when they tell you this place is fantastic! I have never been disappointed with service or food, they have so many options, it's difficult to decide. It's kind of hidden, but worth the search. I recommend the Italian, but everything so far has exceeded expectations. Oh, and every sandwich comes with a pickle and the most amazing homemade potato chips!!

Great customer service. My son has school lunch at 11 the crew opened up early for me and made lunch for him I am so greatful for this favor, and he loved it and said dad we have to go there more often. That's Julia and crew!!!!!

Example: great place for good bread. Unbelievable customer service with even better food. Truly one of the premier up scale deli's in the entire city.

Friendly fast service and great food, what a combo!. A must visit. I have eaten there a few times, and everything is great. The phiily cheese made with Boars Head Roast Beef was the best I have ever eaten, and if you want the best sandwhich in Raleigh ask for the Spadey on Ciabatta bread. great pimento cheese as well.

Best upscale deli in Raleigh, hands down. From sandwiches made from fresh crusty breads, piled high with Boar's Head meats and cheeses, and topped with only the freshest produce, to their mind-blowing deli cases filled with homeade creations like butternut squash lasagna, mac & cheese, the best-ever chicken salad and pimento cheese, this place has it all. They make the best scratch cookies in town. Sometimes I'll order for take out, have a glass of wine while waiting, look over some of the kitchenware, grocery items and cookbooks, and then take home an entire bottle wine to compliment my dinner. The atmosphere is very welcoming and Chef Julia and her staff make sure that you feel right at home. The open kitchen let's you see, smell and then eventually, taste what's cooking. They cater too! I can't say enough about this place.
