Great food and sweet people.
This has quickly become my husband and my favorite restaurant.
The wait staff is very friendly and patient. Even with the language barrier - they are always there to go above and beyond for you.
Our favorite dishes - stuffed lettuce with chicken, kung pow chicken, egg rolls, and chicken with broccoli. Everything is always good - hot - and fresh.
The prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some yummy Chinese. Come as you are - you won't be sorry.
Don't ask for extra duck sauce. The food is good but god forbid you ask for extra duck sauce, two occasions they spoke chinese and laughed at me. Now I go to Orient Garden and they say how many would you like. what does it cost 3cents!!
TERRIBLE SERVICE.
My husband and I have made a tradition of going to Red Dragon on Christmas Day for the last 4 years. It's always been full/busy but not long wait time - and always great food, solid service, and appropriately priced. This year, my parents and sister were visiting so we took them too. It was AWFUL. The waitstaff were clueless - I honestly think they'd never worked there before. I should have known we were in trouble when my husband ordered a Heineken and the waitress asked if that was a beer. We ordered food family-style, plus 2 of us got soup. The appetizer came out correct and timely. The soup arrived wrong - only 1 came out and it wasn't what either of us ordered. They quickly corrected the soups...and then we waited...and waited...and waited...for about 45 minutes. We saw other diners having similar issues, waiting for food, having difficulty flagging down the staff for drink refills or to-go boxes. The place was full but people came in staggered enough that it should have been manageable. Our food FINALLY arrived...and it was barely lukewarm. Only 1 dish was hot - which was served on a skillet. Even the rice was room temperature. Rather than send it back and wait even longer, we requested boxes so we could heat it up and eat at home. At this point, the hostess (manager?) came over and when we told her that the food was not hot, she said, "that's not possible." We got our check (on which nothing was comped, despite our fuss) - paid exact change in cash and walked out.
All that being said, the food itself was good. But NOT worth it to put up with the service.
Not only do we have to find a new place for Christmas Day, we're NEVER going there again and will tell all our friends the same.
Used to be our favorite place--until.... Not good for take out--watch out!! Good service until something goes wrong. This used to be our favorite stop for chinese take out until we had a bad experience with a mix up of our order. We call the same take out order each time and they messed it up--probably due to new staff or a language problem--it was their mistake not ours. The reaction of the management was very disappointing. We discovered the mistake when we got home. We called and they said drive back to pick up the right order. After changing clothes, getting back into the car, and driving back, they met us at the door and refused to credit our meal--they wanted us to keep both meals as a way to make amends. Poor customer service. They lost our business over a 8 dollar meal mix up!
Great for Take-Out. We live in Breckenridge and get take out from here about once a month. It is a pretty typical chinese restaurant with the typical menu (though I really like their steamed meals with sauce on the side). Not really any cons, you get exactly what you expect to get from a chinese take out and you get it everytime. I would recommend.
Delicious! Authentic! Fresh! GREAT!. I've only done take out, but from what I've seen, the interior is cozy and pleasant. More specifically, the food! I love sesame chicken, and this is the best I've had- it's not overly coated- it's light, while still having a crisp coating and a sweet savory sauce! The spring rolls are a few bites of heaven, and the broccoli chicken, besides being a little low on broccoli, was awesome as well!
Good for what it's worth.
The atmosphere is pleasant and the lunch prices are reasonable. The soups are very good and always hot and fresh. I agree with the one complaint about the staff, they aren't the most pleasant people but aside from that you can have a nice dining experience.
With regards to food, it is ok, not highly recommended as some of the other reviewers but good enough for us to return once a month.
Great Food!. Best Chinese place in Cary area! We go here all the time and love it. I think the service is good. The waiters are always playful with our son and respond to our requests. The Honey Chicken is my favorite dish and the Crab Rangoon is delicious. Highly recommended!
Excellent food.
I love this place. I always say you can tell a good Chinese restaurant by how they cook their Sesame Chicken - and it is amazing at Red Dragon.
Regarding the courteousness of the staff - they do seem to be a bit unaffected by customers - not that they are rude or anything, just that they seem to take their time and attend to other matters before they get to you. I don't think this is a personal thing, just a cultural thing - though it is always nice to be treated as you are the most important person there.
Not your average take out restaurant. This isn't rushed take out. It is good quality, well prepared food. I think the last reviewer (IPT?) may be the owner of a nearby takeout. Try the Orange Beef or better yet the Beef with Lobster. The staff is always courteous. You won't be disappointed.
