FISHING FOR A BAR TAB AT BONEFISH.
WE WENT TO BONEFISH LAST SAT NITE FOR A BIRTHDAY, ALTHOUGH WE HAD BEEN THERE A COUPLE OF TIMES BEFORE WE DID'NT MAKE RESERVATIONS BECAUSE IT WAS EARLY(630) AND WE THOUGHT WE COULD HAVE A DRINK AT THE BAR WHILE WE WAITED. WE GAVE OUR NAME TO THE MARAUDING HOSTESS(TRAVELS WITH A CLIPBOARD) AND THE PODIUM HOSTESS AS WELL. WE WERE TOLD THAT THE WAIT WAS AN HOUR. FINE, WE WILL RELAX AT THE BAR,(TWO WOMEN AND AN ELDERLY GENTLEMAN). IT WAS ODD THAT THE PLACE DID NOT LOOK SO BUSY AS TO REQUIRE AN HOUR WAIT AND THAT BECAME CLEARER THE LONGER WE STAYED AT THE BAR. (2) GLASSES OF WINE (KENDALL-JACKSON FOR GOSH SAKE AND A HEINIKEN WITH TIP- $23.00- YIKES! THEN WE MADE THE BIG MISTAKE-WE ORDERED ANOTHER ROUND! THAT WAS TANTAMOUNT TO BEING KEPT SEATED AT THE BAR WHILE TABLES SAT VACANT IN THE DINING ROOM. WHEN WE QUESTIONED THE HOSTESS SHE SAID IT WOULD BE AN ADDITIONAL 30 MIN WAIT. I ASKED THEM WELL WHAT'S THE STORY ABOUT THE EMPTY TABLES? 5 MIN LATER WE WERE SEATED, 4 TABLES SAT VACANT THE LENGTH OF OUR DINNER. THE FOOD WAS OK (HOUSE SALAD IS GREAT) BUT FROM NOW ON I THINK WE'LL JUST GO TO FINS WHEN WE HAVE A YEN FOR SEAFOOD. BONEFISH IS JUST THE OUTBACK WITH LINEN TABLECLOTHS AND POOR LIGHTING-WHAT'S UP WITH THAT ANYWAY?
PLUS THE MANAGER WAS KIND OF RUDE AND TOLD US THAT ASKING HOW MUCH LONGER THE WAIT WOULD BE WOULD'NT GET US SEATED ANY FASTER! I MAY GO BACK WHEN THEY START HAVING COUPON 2 FOR 1 NITES BECAUSE WITH SERVICE LIKE THEY'RE GIVING , IT WON'T BE LONG!

Great Evening Out. The food was great and the service we received was excellent! Try the pork chops, their delicious!

Bonehead Portions - We Left Hungry. My wife and I went to Bonefish on Six Forks last night. I was insulted by the small portion size. For $18, I got 4 pieces of shrimp, 4 scallops, and a small scoop of mashed potatoes. This may have been the worst value I've experienced in many years of dining out.

If you like grilled fish you will love this place. Not a tremendous variety on the menu, my want to check that in advance for those picky eaters in the group, but I loved it!
A definate must try, crowded, so make reservations to avoid a long wait.
