Dr. Collins helped me get rid of my gynecomastia. I am a 18 year old whose chest was growing bigger and looked feminine. Dr. Collins cut me along the boarder of my nipple and removed some breast tissue. He also used liposuction to get rid of some of the extra fat. At first is was really swollen but since then I have lost alot of weight and it looks great.

Dr. Collins gave me my life back.. I don't usually take time to write reviews. However, my case was exceptional. I had a basal cell carcinoma taken off my nose at the Cary Skin Center. When they were done, almost all the skin had been removed from the tip of my nose. I was devastated. Dr. Clark immediately referred me to Dr. Collins. His office was able to see me that same day during lunch. When I got to his office I was a total mess. I had never cried so much in all my life. Dr. Collins was wonderful. He calmed me down and explained exactly what we needed to do. I was even more devastated when I learned that he recommended a forehead flap. Essentially, I had to have part of my forehead cut out and rotated down to my nose. I had to stay that way for 3 weeks!!!! Then I had 3 or 4 more procedures to shape the flap.

Needless to say, I was a wreck throughout the whole process. I had so many doubts that I would ever be presentable again. Teresa, the nurse in Dr. Collins office was absolutely wonderful. Dr. Collins put up with all my questions and put me at ease.

The main reason I am writing is to report my results. Almost three months out, you can hardly tell anything was ever done. I look in the mirror and I am still amazed. At the risk of sounding trite, these guys gave me my life back.

Bad Experience. Although the receptionist/front desk staff was friendly and helpful, my experience with Dr. Collins was awful. I had to have a pre-cancerous mole removed. At the pre-op appointment, Dr. Collins told me there was only a 20 percent chance it would ever develop into cancer, but better to be safe, which I agreed with. He drew a horizontal line with a pen on my arm to show me where the scar would be. I have had many moles removed before (including some with stitches) and have several scars, so I wasn't too worried and thought I knew what to expect. Actually, I was expecting a better result since I had been sent to a plastic surgeon. The actual surgery was weird...not painful, but blood was dripping down my arm and got all over the floor and ruined the sweater I had on. Not a big deal but that was unprofessional...the real reason I am so upset is that the scar is HUGE and very noticable. The scar is about 1/2 inch wide and an inch long and in a vertical, not horizontal, direction, which makes it even harder to hide under clothes. I asked him at the post-op why he made the incision in a different direction than what he showed me at the pre-op and he said sometimes he changes his mind during surgery?! I would much rather have a huge scar than have cancer, but I don't feel like I had any idea of what to expect going in. I also fault Cary Dermatology, the practice that referred me to Dr. Collins, because they did not give me any idea what to expect either and because they brushed off my complaints about the scar and about Dr. Collins when I told them about my experience.
