Not kid friendly! – We used to enjoy going to this restaurant until we witnessed the owner actually yelling at a couple regarding their kids. This was at 8:00 P.M. EST and there were only four other people in the restaurant. He actually told them that he had "dogs that were better behaved than their kids." I am a parent, and I can say that these were just kids being kids, and there was no reason to act the way he did. The couple took their kids and left while the owner continued to lambaste them as they were walking out telling them that if they ever came back he'd call the police. My family and I left immediately after and will definitely never eat there again!
GREAT BBQ – I grew up in Memphis and Dallas and I know GOOD BBQ and this is GOOD BBQ. If you only like NC BBQ don't bother because this is better than you are use to and you won't know what to do with this caliber pf BBQ but if your open to new and better things give them a try. The BBQ is great and the sides are good too.

Not you're Daddy's NC BBQ – Danny's is definitely not your traditional NC pulled pork. Instead it has it roots in Florida BBQ from a Jacksonville mainstay called Bono's. It is flavorfully slow cooked/smoked beef and pork. Take your choice of either chopped or sliced. The sliced brisket is second only to real Texas BBQ. Multiple sauces are available as are many side dishes. My personal favorite is a sliced beef dinner with a double order of slaw as the included sides, then an extra side of fried okra for a bit more.
So, if you are looking for a traditional NC BBQ place, I'd suggest looking somewhere else. If you're looking for tasty BBQ that will remind you of Florida, Texas or even Memphis, this is the place to try.
Ehhh... it's not bad. – Let me make myself clear: the food is good, the service is good, the atmosphere is good.
The thing is, being a native NCian, I was very disappointed in their "barbecue". Almost all of the meals are literally just a plate full of unseasoned, unflavorful meat. They have four barbecue sauces to choose from and you can get bread and good sides with it. Seeing their kitchen (it's an open kitchen) and their advertisements, I expected a good plate of Bill Ellis caliber barbecue. So technically I suppose the food is good in the sense that it is perfectly edible and worth the money, but it's just not *barbecue*.
