Overpriced Under Qualified Incompetent..... I was in town for MY wedding, and needed a place downtown to get mani/pedi's with my bridesmaids and mom... My wedding planner suggested Primp and made our 5 appointments for 1:00. I called to say I was running late (10 min) they said no problem.

Showed up at 1:08 to find that they were "calling in reinforcements" as they only had ONE nail tech there. When I asked about having nail art done on my big toes (I simply wanted "I Do" printed on my toes I was told "we don't do nail art" Well, thankfully Carlos was feeling frisky that day and made the "I DO" happen after I threw a mini-fit.

Everyone's manicures were peeling off before the end of the day and on my wedding day I was in CVS buying polish to fix what PRIMP screwed up the day before.

The ONLY redeeming quality was the BAR and at over 70 dollars per person for something so simple as a mani/pedi I expect better customer service and nails that don't chip, fade, or peel off in under 24 hours.

SEVERELY DISAPPOINTING... STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

Overpriced for the Services You Receive. Went to Posh for a pedicure.... and I got Carlos - the girl in there described him as the "premier" pedicure person.. Carlos claimed to work there for three years, and yet he did not know how do a french pedicure... He hand painted the white tips which were crooked and then slopped pink top coat over the top to try to blur the lines.. It's a hot mess! $59 apparently is the going rate there for a pedicure I might add (although no one provided me with a list of servcies and/or charges even though I told them it was my first time trying them out) and no I didn't order a drink or any extra services... That was $70 after tip for a service that wound up being twice what I pay at my normal nail salon. And Carlos's attempt at French on my toes was just ok, certainly not up to what I get from my ususal place. Save your money and don't bother.. At Posh you are paying the rent on their downtown location and not getting the Professional Services that you expect. I'd been happy to pay that amount if I had a half decent pedicure to show off in the end...

Terrible Service, Underwhelming Haircut. 4/2/11 -

Let's just start with the fact that Primp is a snooty overpriced salon. Then let's add to the mix that whoever does their scheduling is an idiot. I went to the salon with my fiancee so that we could get haircuts at the same time. We were told we'd be there for 45 minutes (this was after his stylist was already 20 minutes late), which was true for my fiancee. Whoever had scheduled myself scheduled me with Dayle (who tried to be nice about it), but was also still working on someone else. I waited 1.5 hours to get my haircut and then it took another 45 minutes once he actually did start cutting my hair. Not only that, but he didn't listen to what I wanted and insisted that I needed to get my hair cut much shorter than I wanted (I obliged thinking he knew best). Then on top of that he didn't cut my bangs the way I wanted and now my hair looks like a femullet and I hate it. I also flat iron my hair to keep it straight and told him I wanted to leave looking how I came in. He blew out my hair so that it looked like a giant poof of unnecessary volume and told me that next time I came in it would be even more voluminous.

Meanwhile, my fiancee is sitting on the couch with nothing to do (he doesn't read People Magazine or Hairstyling magazine) waiting for me to be done.

Finally, we went to pay for the service and the girl at the front desk was not overly friendly, but again not the issue at hand. I asked to put their tips on my credit card and she said that they don't take credit card tips anymore. You either have to pay with cash or pay with check. Then she pointed to the ATM in the corner where of course (shocking surprise) there's a fee associated with it. I wonder who gets the extra fee money from that... How unprofessional.

Overall - definitely not a comebacker. I'll be going elsewhere to get my haircut. What a ripoff for crappy customer service and a haircut I didn't want.

Terrible Color and over charged. I had my hair colored at this place and paid almost $200. The color faded and dried out my hair terribly. I called and asked if there was something I was doing wrong (like using bad products etc.) and they said I could come back in and they would take a look. I made an appointment got a conditioning treatment and they charged me MORE $$$. I finally had to go somewhere else and get my mid/long length hair cut short. I'm just thankful it's hair and hopefully I can start over.

I don't suggest this place if you are looking for modern color, healthy hair, at a fair price. Afterall, you won't be going out to get a drink if your hair is ugly :)

Over priced and Over rated. Seriously $75 for a haircut? and then my poor mother got stuck with a $300.00 pedicure bill for 3 people (they fogot to mention that there was a sizeable upcharge on the extra services they were pushing.)

Don't waste your time at this salon, there are plenty of reasonably priced places to get your hair and nails done and you can get a drink a lot cheaper elsewhere.

Very Disappointed!

LISA! LISA!! LISA!!! UR THE BEST!!. The headline says it all!! Lisa is a doll but besides that, she is creative, understands what look works best for you and takes in consideration the cut, style and color and she works very well in helping you decide whether a certain look that you're interested in trying is actually going to work for you or not but she will always do her very best in making sure that you're 100% happy before you get out of the chair!

I've been going to Lisa for 6 years now....even before she joined Primp and I've never walked out unhappy or dissatisfied!

Yes, Primp is a bit over-priced and it's a bit far for me to travel but finding a good stylist is not e-z these days but once you find someone that's as good as she is, it's worth sticking with them and I don't mind paying good $$ for a great haircut, style or highlighting.

The atmosphere is very contemporary, relaxing and nice to see that they have several flatscreen TV's located throughout the salon as well as a news ticker. Comfortable seating, plenty of reading material, beautiful bar area, warm cashews (you have to ask for them if not offered) and top-of-the-line hair products are available, too.

THE DOWNSIDE:

The girls in the front do have to be a bit friendlier, they should smile more and they have to "up" their assistance in getting you a drink whether it's liquor, water or anything else you might like. These things need attention by the owner and from what I understand, one owner recently left and from what I saw on my last visit, the other partner is turning all the negatives around to the positive and there definitely was an improvement at the front reception counter.

If you are like me, you can overlook the little "quirks" with the reception area as long as the stylist is making you happy and as I said, I've been very satisfied with Lisa for a long time now and if she should ever leave....well, I'll track her dow n wherever she goes just to keep her doing my hair! As I said, a good stylist is hard to find these days! Being from NY/NJ and moving to the South, you can never be too sure what you're going to find out there, right?

Thanks Lisa and thanks Primp SalonBar in making me one extremely happy customer!!

don't believe the hype. I went to Primp more than a few times to give the salon chance after chance. It was always the same. The front desk staff is the rudest I have EVER seen. Even though your going to pay A LOT for services...they don't care. You have to wait FORVER to get a drink and then I had to find someone and ask them to get me one.....STILL took forever! The owner herself is rude and arrogant too! I am SO glad I found somewhere else to go! I will never go back and give Primp ANY of my money.

Pedicure ok.... The pedicure was alright, really wasn't too impressed with it...The place I normally go does a better job, and less expensive. The survey card I received in the mail had foul language on it and to me, that is very unprofessional!

I LOVE PRIMP. I love Primp Salon, I go to see Lisa and have been so fortunate to finally have a relationship with my stylist where I can say what I want and she does it EXACTLY how I like. The cocktails are a plus and the ambiance is nice. I recommended Primp to a friend of mine who has terribly poofy and really frizzy hair- needless to say it is quite the task to work on her, but she went and LOVED her hair. The people at the front can be a little quiet but its not a big deal- primp is awesome!
