Worst salon experience in my entire life. Please read this to see the true colors behind Primp's pretentious persona.

Let my start off by explaining that I have been seeing the same Mitchell's stylist for the past 7 years of my life. This is partially because of loyalty, and partially because I have extremely curly hair that I don't trust in the hands of just anyone. However because my hair stylist is about an hour drive from me now, I've been wanting to try someone new. So I called around to some top Raleigh salons, asking for recommendations on stylists who are very good at cutting curly hair. I was referred to India.

On the day of my appointment, I explained to Indya that I like my long, voluminous hair. I told her that I do not like to wear it in its naturally curly state, but instead i straighten/curl it to create big voluminous curls. I also explained to her that I liked to keep my hair long, and I was trying to grow out my layers. She promised to cut less than an inch of my hair off. So I let her go to work.

In addition to cutting off over three inches of hair, India took it upon herself to cut layers into my hair that were completely uneven. India also thinned out my hair with "weight-lifting" shears. Anyone with curly hair knows that the LAST thing you want to do is thin out the bottom half of your hair because from all of the heating and styling that you do to your hair, it's prone to breakage at the ends. Therefore, thinning the bottom makes absolutely no sense. I not only got about half of my hair chopped off, but it is a horrendous haircut and I have had to wear my hair up ever since.

Needless to say, I was extremely upset the day of my appointment (5/25), so after some tears I just paid and left. I called back the next day (5/26) to talk to the manager and see what we could do about it. I was told she was out of town on vacation, so I said I would call back. Less than an hour later, I received a phone call from the "manager" of the salon (confusing to me, because I never told them my name when I called...but whatever). The "manager" was very understanding and I asked her to give me some products to help keep my hair as healthy as possible in order to help it grow back as fast as it can. She obliged and said she would also refund my money. She said she would be out of town but she would be back on Wednesday (5/30). I also explained to her that I didn't want to come in when Indya would be working, so she told me to come in any time before 1. I came in on Wednesday, 5/30 I found out that the "manager" had not come back from vacation... and they did not know when she would come back. However the person I was speaking to told me that she was the "assistant manager". She gave me some products for my hair but informed me that she could not give me a refund, and I would have to come back.

I was out of town for the rest of the week, so I called back

Cocktails and Hair!. I became a fan of this place after a friend recommended it. Went for the first time, got a great hair cut and a great cocktail buzz! No complaints here... I will be back. Great prices, great service.

Professional and Amazing Cut and Color. This week I found Primp Salonbar online through a google search. I was skeptical going in because I had never been there and had to trust the girl on the phone with her recommendation. I saw Indya Hicks today and she was perfect. She was patient when I asked her if I could have more foils after she had already put in so many. She was very nice and knew what she was doing.

The front desk was nice and I even got a bag of samples when I walked in. I had a pixies tick drink and it was yummy.

I loved my hair and am happy to be blonde again. Thank you!

Indya Hicks - Awesome Hair Stylist........ Wow..... This is the total opposite of what I experienced with Indya Hicks. She was very pleasant, took her time and listened to what I wanted. She was very attentive and told me what she thought would work better for the shape of my face. She did even much better than what I was expecting. We even did a suggested color that was awesome, it was balanced and no spotting. I have had cuts and colors done where I had to go back 2 to 3 times, but not with Indya. It was the best hair cut and coloring I had ever had and I have been to a few salons in the triangle area {Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill}. I am sure everyone has their own experience and has their preferred stylist. So my words of wisdom to all who are looking for a "top" stylist who will give you what you are looking for "GO TO INDYA HICKS" Whatever school, classes and seminars she has taken they would be proud. Thank God for you’re the anointing he has blessed over your hands.... Your business will go beyond what anyone could ever imagine........

Nick R. is great!. Nick R. is a fantastic stylist. He fixed a very bad haircut I received and I was very impressed with his knowledge and professionalism. I will definitely be going back to him.

Love it!. I started going to Primp because my stylist, Lisa Chan, moved there from another salon. I have never been one to follow a stylist but Lisa is worth following! She does an amazing job with my hair and always listens to what I want. I get compliments all the time on my color and it's all because of Lisa.

The salon is fun, has a great feel, and the drink selections are awesome!

So make sure you make your appointment with Lisa, you won't be disappointed!!!

Love Primp!. I love this salon! I love Lisa Chan, she saved my color and haircut! My hair was a wreck when I came in due to another salon.... Lisa corrected everything and I left with amazing hair that felt and looked the best it ever has! I will never go to anyone else!!! Bonus while I was processing I had a great pedi from Teresa while enjoying a yummy raztini! This place is the BEST!

Best place to get nails done in Raleigh!!!. I love Carlos! He makes my nails look amazing! I go all the time for shellac manis and pedicures and will never go to anyone besides Carlos. When I started going to Carlos my nails were a mess and now they look amazing, they are so healthy and the longest they have ever been in my life! All of my friends request to go to Primp to visit Carlos when they come in town. It is the highlight of their visit! We always have so much fun drinking martinis and chatting with Carlos. Carlos is the best!

My Favorite Place To Be. I am new to Raleigh and heard a few things about Primp so before I booked my hair appointment, I tested out the nail department. First of all, I feel guilty for using the term "nail department" as it is more like a cool little oasis in this very posh and trendy salon. I booked Tini's and Toes for my roommate and I. Carlos and Teresa did our pedi's and we never wanted to leave! We laughed and talked - opposed to other pedicures I've had where there is no interaction between the person doing my nails and me - AWKWARD!!! At least three other people checked in on us asking if we needed drinks, suggesting places to go (because we are new) and just getting in on the fun. It's weeks later and my tootsies still look fab and I am sooooo excited to go back and chat with everyone from Primp when I get my hair done next week!!! This is the place to be - i felt welcome from the time I called and made my appointment to when I checked out and set my next appointment!!!!
