I was recommended to use Natasha from one of my girlfriends. When I met with her, I knew I was asking for something complicated (color) and I wanted to ensure functionality as it grew out. I explained everything to her, and dang if she didn't repeat back, almost verbatim what I said in my 5 minute schpeel, followed up with "so this is my plan to get there...". Wow, someone who listened!! LOVE LOVE my hair and I have a feeling Natasha is stuck with me for life. She's super professional and is there for the right reasons. She is a true artist with vision.

I only wish blo would get new chairs. They hurt my back every time. :( (this excludes the massaging shampoo chairs!) The end result of the hair is worth the pain, but it would be nice if they were comfortable.

I have been going to BLO for over 5 years. Linzy is the best. She is an awesome mentor and on my last visit it was great to see her mentoring a young African America female. I really relax after a crazy day at the office where Linzy and I can talk about anything or I can have a quiet visit. All of the staff is very pleasant and great "teamwork"...it is easy to complain but please look in the mirror before you hit send..."Live and Let Live"

I am not in the habit of posting reviews, but I felt it necessary in this instance. I have to agree with one of the most recent reviews on here, which picked up on the owner Bryan's inability to accept constructive criticism. I was one of his customers who had seen two different stylists (because my hair is long, and I don't get it cut often). My first cut was a pleasant experience. During my series of visits with the second stylist, I was prepping for a special event and trying to get my color just right (I had not previously used color services here). The color experience was a fiasco from start to finish. I never was able to achieve the desired shade, despite several attempts. Also, when my stylist supposedly did a few highlights during the last "multidimensional" service, I could see that the result was very uneven once I was able to style my hair on my own. I agree with other comments that the pricing is very arbitrary, as services were added during my visit (at the shampoo bowl during the color session) that inflated my final price at checkout, which were not requested by me originally. I communicated with the owner on two occasions, speaking with him by phone and by email. I was left with the impression that the stylists know best, and that the customer should spend as much on their hair as the stylist thinks (in their opinion) they should (because after all, they are the experts). The lack of clarity and quality were my two main issues. This may be the "cool" place to go in Raleigh, and some people voted for it as the best, but the vibe is not right for me. It was not real enough for me to build a relationship with them, and they will no longer receive my business. I have already found another salon and stylist with much better communication and clearer pricing that works for me...

Technically: Fine. Behaviorally: Not so much.. I have been going to Blo since the salon opened. The staff is very pleasant and professional. The product/service is stellar. Typically, I wouldn't have anything to complain about. Unfortunately, I have seen some fairly unsavory commentary by the owner and while I have never utilized services, his behavior has driven me to a different salon. Bryan is the captain of his ship but the berating behavior, the outing of customers who wish to post feedback anonymously and his inability to accept constructive criticism leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

This is unfortunate but I cannot patronize a business that engages in infantile behavior. One never knows when constructive criticism will be misconstrued and she will fall victim to an outburst of someone who lacks professionalism. It is simply not worth the aggravation.

LAURA ROCKS!!. If you're looking for a mult-dimensional color with PAZAZZ Laura is your girl!

I have long hair and VERY particular about the health of my hair while having color that STAND OUT in a crowd. I can imagine this is a tough request for a hair designer, right?

Laura carefully asked my opinion and perception while selecting shades of blonde, brunette, and browns to create a palate of art on my head!

Laura recognized the importance of healthy hair and keeping my length by adding a protectant to the ends before the cut. AMAZING! Amazing, I say!

Thank you, Laura, for taking the time with me & BLOwing me away with a FABULOUS color & cut. You made me beautiful once again... what a great welcome to Raleigh by blo.
