Great!. Today was my first visit, the manager was super friendly and helpful. Place is clean, plenty of beds and I like that you can make an appointment. I also like that they offer different beds. Prices seam the same as all other triangle salons.
I'd look somewhere else. I wish I would have looked around before I signed a contract. They are very pushy...I have never seen a tanning salon that was this pushy before; like a door to door salesmen. They really only care about you getting a membership. And then of course they always want you to buy more lotion or products. Next time I will find a place that isn't so pushy. It is also way too expensive for what you are getting. Other than being so aggressive the staff was friendly, but you can find that other places without all the contracts.
Horrible service, condescending and patronizing.
I was the customer the other reviewer is talking about. It's time to get the other side of the story, ladies. First of all, there was no one else in the salon when all of this happened, so this is obviously the owner who wrote that review. The OWNER of this run down tanning salon spoke to me like I was an idiot. The OWNER sucked her teeth and acted like she was superior when all I did was smile and said I had tanned before. When I approached her about her patronizing manner after my tanning session, she got worse. I said I didn't appreciate her attitude. She returned that she felt I was rude every time I went in there. I am a bartender myself...I am never intentionally rude to anyone doing a service for me. I simply don't talk to every person I run into. I said as much. Really, I am rude for not making small talk? Do you want money and patronage or not? Apparently not. I've never been overcharged so much and treated so badly. And the owner is a b*tch.
P.S. The only reason you even got one star, is because they wouldn't let me put zero.
GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today I witnessed the best customer service I have ever seen. I was gettting ready to get into the tanning bed when I heard a customer come into the store. The employee asked her what she wanted to do and the girl said 20 minutes in a basic. The employee said "Well, last time you only went 15 minutes, are you sure that you want to move up 5 minutes. I just don't want to burn you." The customer laughed out loud and said "I have tanned before I don't need you to tell me how to tan." The employee said "I'm sorry maam I am just doing my job and I don't want to hurt you...ok you are all set." I assume the customer just went to go get in the bed and I did the same. When my bed stopped I heard the customer at the front counter again saying that she was very upset about the service she received when she first came in the door. The employee apologized and said again that she was just doing her job. The customer called the employee a b**** and walked out saying that she would never tan there again. I was shocked that this customer acted this way. I didn't say anything to the employee when I left because she was busy cleaning a bed but I just want to say that I could never be in the service industry because of customers like this one and BRAVO to that employee. She did her job and she has never been anything but accomidating and cheery when I come into the salon. Obviously, that customer was just not a very nice person. But, I just want to applaud this Planet Beach's customer service GREAT JOB!
Love it. I love Avent Ferry, the staff is great and the beds are wonderful. If you haven't used services here yet you are definitley missing out.
High membership fees for low-grade tanning!!.
i purchased a "platnium package" at $50 a month for unlimited tanning in the highest level bed - this was including my student discount and i had to commit to 9 months of auto-debiting my acct! I make my appointments ahead of time, but I never get what i paid for!!! (do to unfit facilities compared to the number of clients) - i MAYBE lay in a platnium bed 1 out of 5 times! i should have bought a basic package!! Dont let them fool you into membership, either!!! you can tan any where else - for cheaper - w/o membership fees!!!
I always arive on time to my appointments and if im running late i call and cancel - i expect the same consideration. one week night, i arrived 5 min early to a 6:40 appt. At that time, i could se that the platnium bed was empty and ready for me. so i signed in and sat down. 25 minutes past until i said F-it! the dummies at the front desk were to busy gossiping to realize I (and others) were waiting - for nothing, since the bed was empty and clean!
Seems like you might have to be of "Barbie Quality" to get any positive attention or customer service!! I will finish my 9 month contract and never return!! I dont recommend anyone pay such high prices for such awful service!!
On top of crappy service - their beds aren't as hot as they should be! the same bed #5 (medium standup) is hotter at my gym!
And after tanning here for months- i went to NAV to tan once and got burnt in a basic!!! WTF!??
something aint right - if you're tanning here, im sure you're getting ripped off!!
Take it from me, I've tanned everyday since i was 16 and my mother in law owned a salon for years that i managed!! I know what quality service and beds look/feel like!!!
All Planet Beaches are bad, but avent ferry is unbearable!!!!!
