Best Brunch on the planet
by efenwealt
My wife and I had a friend visiting from out of town and wanted a nice breakfast. Cindy had popped into our own store the night before and told us about her place. So we decided to try the place out on a whim. IT WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST BREAKFAST I HAVE EVER EATEN IN 37 YEARS. All 3 of us absolutely loved our food. The service was great. The atmosphere is cool. We've since had Cindy cater an event we hosted at Camelot Treasures and were awed by her cooking.
- Pros: DELICIOUS
- Cons: not the best parking
Good food, Slow Service
by case49
I have been to this restaurant now twice. Both times I have received slow service from the staff, and had to wait anywhere from 40min to an hour for food. The food is really good, however I do not feel that it is good enough to wait that long. This is a small mom and pop restaurant. I dine out frequently at all types of places and I never wait this long for food. (By food I mean a sandwich). A small sandwich restaurant that has 3 tables in it should serve food much faster. I hope that the owners figure out what is the problem, because the food is tasty. Also I was looking at the other reviews, and I always read these before going to a new restaurant. I find it strange this restaurant has a perfect score when the reviews have not been so great. I wish I would have read them instead of just looking at the score.
I love this restaurant

Cindy's was the first restaurant that I ate at in the Triangle. I was up here interviewing for a job and the company's owner took me to Cindy's. This was a big plus to the interview.
Over the years, I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Cindy's House. I have never had a bad meal at Cindy's. This is amazing in and of itself, given my luck with special requests at restaurants. When I was planning on taking my wife and in-laws there for my wife's birthday, the folks at Cindy's heard and helped come up with special menu items that my wife loved.
While I enjoy all three meal times that Cindy's offers, I really love dinners at Cindy's. Dinnertime is when you really get to see Cindy flex her culinary muscles. I always order the Tomato Pie, which is amazing.
My only issues involve the front-of-house. A while back, they changed their hours. I don't know if that caused some of the issues that others have mentioned, but the front-end staffing has changed a bit. Our favorite servers left and that did affect the experience, though not enough to keep us away.
Will we continue to go to Cindy's? Absolutely!
- Pros: The food, ambience
- Cons: Service
Good Food, but not worth the bad service
by rjl416
I have been to Cindy's House 4 times now. Most recently, this last Saturday. Prior to mt last visit, I always found the food to be quite good, always fresh and of good quality. I have never been a fan of the service, or the amount of time it takes me to get my food, but have always felt that the quality of the food well surpassed the sub par service I would receive. Not anymore. With friends visiting from out of town, I was looking for a nice place that had both breakfast and lunch options. We arrived at Cindy's House and waited to be seated. After 10 minutes at the door, we were acknowledged. After 30 minutes we were seated. It was not overly busy, only 4 tables were occupied, so I wasn't sure what took so long. When sat, we immediately ordered as we had already decided what we wanted while waiting to be sat. After ordering, we waited to receive our food for 1 hour and 15 minutes. To me & my guests, this seemed to be completely unacceptable. Our server never acknowledged us while we were waiting at all. After waiting for 45 minutes, someone did bring food to our table, however, it belonged to someone else. Shortly after that, we flagged down our server and asked where our food was, she said she would check. She came out of the kitchen and said our food was finished and they were plating it. 30 minutes later we got it. I find it hard to believe that it took 30 minutes to plate it. The food was good as usual, but just NOT WORTH THE WAIT. I might have entertained the idea of going back if our server had been apologetic at all, however she was not. She never offered an apology nor did she even refill our drinks the entire time, so when our food finally arrived, we had nothing to wash it down with. CINDY, you are a great cook, but you are running your restaurant very poorly. I would not in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone, there are plenty of other good restaurants that have food of the same quality with better service.
- Pros: Food Quality
- Cons: Everything Else
