Taxi Driver Negligent/No apology from General Manager.
No surprise that RDU taxi is a 1.5 Star.
Aside from being picked up 8 minutes late. I waited on the driveway at 6:20 AM with my 2 young children with ALL my luggage. One of my luggage pieces went missing. It did not come out of the trunk at the airport and No, I did not leave it inside my home. The driver was loading the luggage while I loaded my children and myself in the car. Regardless, the bag is MISSING. RDU Airport Taxi Drivers cannot be trusted, I'm not saying he stole it intentionally but he was definately negligent with my property.
Andy Foley the General Manager was rude and defensive. He offered no sympathy or apology and said He said it was MY FAULT. I should have scheduled the taxi EVEN earlier than the recommended 2 hours for a domestic flight because I had children. As far as luggage, he said he was my word against his trusted, drivers (who btw don't arrive on-time), and he would rather take their word. He said he was fine to lose me as a client rather than reimburse me $15 taxi fare for the poor experience. Never heard of a so-called General Manager that is OKAY to lose a customer. Shame on you Mr. Andy Foley. POOREST customer service I have ever received.
The service is the worst i have experienced. I scheduled online to be picked up at 4:45 AM, as my flight was at 6 AM(its 10 minutes drive from my place). I even confirmed the time by calling them the night before and i was told that the time is confirmed.
The next morning i waited for the cab, Since, the cab did not show up at 4:45AM, i called them and they assured me that the cab was around my place and would be there in 2 minutes. It finally arrived at 5:10 AM, i reached airport at 5:20 AM, only to miss my flight. I called their helpline, only to be told that the manager would speak to me, no one called.
My advice - Do not take this cab, its crap.These guys are not reliable.
Poor customer service. Used them 2-3 times. 2 times, ok. They drive recklessly. 3rd time, the driver shouted at me for not giving tip. I am new to this country and I dont know the formalities here. But it was quite a bad experience for me. I dont know since when people started thinking getting tip is a privilege for a bad customer service
Drivers are dangerous.. These are the black cabs with the RDU logo that you see waiting at the terminals. I have ridden with them three different times and all three times, the drivers operated recklessly. The first time, the driver insisted on exceeding the speed limit by at least ten miles an hour on a windy road with poor visibility and lots of deer. The second time, the driver ran a red light and nearly collided with a pickup truck that was entering the intersection. The third (and LAST) time I used them, the driver was texting while driving and weaving all over the road on airport property. Just recently, one ran a stop sign in my neighborhood (he didn't even slow down) and if I hadn't seen him and braked hard, he'd have run into me. I've complained to both the cab company and the Airport Authority but clearly the management of RDU taxi does not have your safety as a priority. I will never use this company again. Use caution if you see one on the road.
I was stood up!.
Used them several times. They were ok most of the times. Then the last time I was stood up and almost missed my flight.
I called them 10 minutes before the scheduled pickup time to make sure. I was told they forgot to assign a driver and would give me a call when they located one. I waited for the call for 20 mins before I had to ask my pregnant wife to drive me to the airport at 5am. They finally called after I already passed the security check and asked me if I got to the airport on time!!! How considerate was that!
And of course that was the last time I did business with them.
Schedulers are Lazy. I have used RDU taxi for transportation to and from the airport. The first time I called, I attempted to give directions to the scheduler because my address is in a new neighborhood and does not always come up on mapping services. They acted like they didn't need it. But the cab driver couldn't find me and had to call me. Then I called on a Wednesday to schedule a pick-up for Sunday. They said I had to call back the day before. What kind of company wouldn't want service. The only reason I didn't flunk these guys is because the drivers are really friendly and their end of the service was great! If you need a cab FROM the airport, I'd definitely recommend them. But you may want to find alternate methods of transportation TO the airport because delaing with the schedulers is a hassle.
