Location Location Location.
Village Deli is perfect example of Location Location Location. We all have been to a restaurant at beach or when you visit some new town there is a restaurant that is in the heart of the action.
Looks inviting then you go inside and try the food, consequently are astounded how such a pathetic tasting food is served at gas gouging prices. Village Deli is it for Wake Forest. This place is Bad. REAL BAD… Wilted lettuce in salad. Hello! What appeared to be slimy old smelly cold cuts skimpy served on a huge roll. Tasteless. If I want bread I would go to a bakery. My attempt to get fresh salad was throated with rude/nasty person at register raising her voice at me. Wow… how about if I buy you a “side” of anger management classes Village Deli ?
Furthermore, this place is not a Deli not even with the furthest stretch of the imagination… I guess the thief that owns this place must know “Deli” in the name must sell. I have been told that there were other Village Deli's that went under, because of bad food and astronomical prices (winning combination). I am sure this one in Wake Forest is not far behind. Avoid this place at all cost … Do not waste your monies on bad old food that might you sick……
Awesome Red Velvt. See a full review posted on my blog: Something Swanky: Cupcakes and Desserts. Google: Something Swanky, Village Deli
Pathetic is the only word that describes Village Deli.
Pathetic is the only word that accurately describes “Village Deli” I work for Drug Company in Raleigh/ Wake Forest area. It is a part of my workday for me to eat lunch daily with other Reps. or
customers and will cater to offices weekly or bi-weekly as my budget allows... I stopped going to this place over year ago because if my offices complain about the poor quality of the sandwich deli provided. I am paying top dollar for sandwiches and my clients do not want it for FREE… Not once has deli correctly made my order right the 8 times I used them and they are arrogant when you ask them what the problem was… Unfortunately. you pay before they deliver so there is no recourse. The hard rolls were stale croissants had mold on them YUCK… chicken salad smelled spoiled and I was embarrassed to use them.
This week while in Wake Forest for lunch I have a client that wanted to go to the deli. I obliged, nothing has changed, sandwiches took over ½ hour and was supposedly entered wrong and the sandwich my client had slimy/smelly meat. And their sanwich prices went up again. $13. It is amazing to me the people that eat here just do not know where to get good food readonably priced.
Right next door there is a nice Mexican sit down Las Palmas that has rice and bean specials daily for $5 nice atmosphere for talking clients and quick service … but my favorite is Ziggy’s in adjacent building (same parking lot) that has absolutely amazing lunch specials for $5 with quick sit-down service also.
Avoid this deli they will make you sick with their rancid food or sick with their outrageous prices. I fell sorry when I see people eating at this place… only if they knew……
CAN NOT SEEM TO GET IT RIGHT!. I live and Work in Wake Forest our staff goes out to lunch couple times a week. We had stopped going to the Village Deli over year ago because of the mediocre to poor tasting food that was outrageously priced. Last Friday we stopped in for a bite to give it another try… Some things never change… We had our usual 20-25 min wait for 2 sandwiches and order Chicken tenders. We specifically asked for turkey sandwich on plain wheat bread with dressings and whatever accompaniments on side (too much to ask for outrageously price sandwich?) Needless to say Deli can not even get that right. Chicken fingers were soggy and barley warm as if they were made few hours before. Amazingly rude counter personnel seem clueless or it just act that way to get you to go away… Price for sandwich, drink and side is $14… So, if you crave, sub-par food, slow service and rude & clueless personnel all at an EXCEDINGLY OBSORBANT PRICE. Village Deli is for you… Not for us, never again……
SERVED SMELLY OLD MEAT MADE US SICK.
My office mate and I bought 2 sandwiches for lunch last week, one Turkey, lettuce, tomato on white and the other just Ham on a roll. Turkey sandwich was rancid. It actually stunk from spoilage. I
opened turkey sandwich there was GREEN and DARK blotches on the sliced turkey meat. My office mate inspected her sandwich and the ham was slimy and foul smelling. I discretely returned the sandwich to the counter, the counter person could not be bothered was rude when I explained the sandwich meat was spoiled. Counter person argued that was the way the turkey and ham meat always looks and smells that way.
I am astonished that more people have not gotten sick or this place closed by heath department.…
