Going downhill, but not because of the food

Bistro is very convenient so my husband and I have been there many many times. We were very encouraged by the new chef and menu. It seems each time we go the quality of service slips.
First of all the hostess, who used to be a very professional well dressed lady is now several teenagers who look like they just went on a shopping spree at Abercrombie.
Second to last time my husband ordered a $13 glass of wine which was a very pitiful pour. When he asked for an "adult" pour, the second glass was perhaps 20mls more.
The last time we were considering a couple of bottles of wine $85 and $106. When asking the waitress, Danelle, any descriptions she could offer she said she gave a sixth grade explanation that the $106 bottle "tasted better" with no regard to tannins, fruit, spiciness, etc. My husband told her to go ask someone and she replied, "Ok you want me to bring you the bottle they suggest?" as if we were wasting her time. By the way we never saw that person.
We sat and watched as other customers received their amuse and bread. We finally asked for bread. At the end of the dinner we were pretty much ready to get out. We had to search out the waitress at the wait station to get our check. We also had to go find her to get our filet to take home.
We have reached the point that the quality of the food does not offset the crappy service this place offers.
- Pros: Excellent food
- Cons: Horrible staff
