In Short – Blond wood tones, soft hanging lights and orange textured wallpaper visually link the separate bar, dining and tatami rooms. The crowd is as varied as the menu: Businesspeople sip sake at the bar while families and groups fill the cream leather booths and white-linen covered tables in the main area. The menu features everything from full-sized entrees and sashimi/maki combos to Kobe beef carpaccio and calamari salad served with garden greens and Japanese mountain vegetables.

Editor's Tips

Know Before You Go:
There's no charge to rent one of the traditional tatami rooms, but make sure to reserve at least 24 hours in advance.

Awesome

Made a reservation here through Opentable for our anniversary a little while back. I put our special instructions that we wanted a nice quiet table, that we were celebrating our anniversary and we were first time diners. I've done this before for other restaurants and occasions, and have had mixed experiences. We arrived to find a specially dressed, candle lit booth waiting for us. Our waiter (Davion-amazing) was attentive and accomodating. He guided us through our meal as first time guests without being omnipresent or overbearing. We had the Seabass and a Hawaiian sampler with some "real" wasabi. Loved every bite. The manager came over during our meal to wish us a happy anniversary and ask about our experience. Not just a quick check-up, we spent a good fifteen minutes talking about this and other sushi restaurants. Having this much attention being new guests was great, made us feel like VIPs. THIS is how special nights should be treated. The sushi was as good as any we've had.. and we've had a lot. We will definitely be back long before our next anniversary. Well done guys.

Don't Order Takeout!

by RaleighTime at Citysearch

It took me 4 phone calls to finally speak to someone because they kept putting me on hold. The 3rd time I told them that I wouldn't hold again, but they put me on forever hold anyway. The 4th time when I refused to hold she finally took my order.

Parking was impossible at the mall so I had to illegally park. My order wasn't ready when promised. Finally I received my order and dashed out. My son looked in the bag on the way home. No chopsticks. I turned the car around and drove back to Mura where I again had to illegally park, get the chopsticks, and have a word with the manager about my horrible experience.

The manager's reaction? He was arrogant and dismissive. He said that they should have put the chopsticks in but that it was Mother's Day which is the busiest day in the restaurant industry and they were short staffed. Then he walked away. No apology. No nothing. Apparently it was my fault. I tend to agree. I chose Mura ... BIG mistake!

If you know that Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year, why didn't you staff for it? They were seating people as they walked in so it didn't seem that busy to me. When I got home I also realized that they had messed up the order. Not much more could have gone wrong. It was expensive, and they were arrogant about their mistakes. The overall message was "We don't need customers at Mura." Got it. I won't be back.

So fresh and fun!

by thundermuffin at Citysearch

I'm so glad I found Mura! If you love sushi then you will not be disappointed. My friends love the specialty rolls, but MY favorite is the fresh Hawaiian nigiri plate. That fish must have been swimming yesterday! My boyfriend doesn't like fish, but he loves the beef yakisoba. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about the fish. We always have a great time. I do recommend reservations for Friday and Saturday night because the wait can get long.

Unacceptable "Service"

by Sayrah at Citysearch

Not Accommodating what-so-ever. Acted like they didn't need my patronage. When has the service industry become so arrogant and entitled? Ridiculous. Will never go back. Originally there was a table of 4, and then they said the wait would be 45 minutes. I then realized that it was going to be 5 people. They acted like it was incredibly RUDE of US and INCONVENIENT to THEM to seat 5 people?!?! We were all very petite ladies, and could easily fit into their booths, but they pitched a royal fit before seating us. Unacceptable. The waitress was great. The hostess needs to be fired.
