I have spent the past week and a half trying to decide if I wanted to submit a complaint in this forum. After reading everything here, I feel I should. I have been using this salon for the past 2 years. The first thing is the help changes often. My first experience there was awesome. I got a GREAT cut. When I went back to have it it trimmed by the same person, she messed it up royally. Now she is no longer there. I went ahead with someone else and got an okay cut, they are gone. I then saw another and he gave me a perm that I liked. It wasn't exactly what I wanted but I could live with it. Now he is gone! I have seen another stylist a few times and she just doesn't get what I'm asking for. I brought in pictures of how my hair was. It is a simple classic cut. I had more than enough hair to work with as I had grown it long. I even called to say it wasn't quite right and I went in to have it fixed. She didn't even wet my hair. Not even a spritzer bottle! Just cut it dry! And now it is much worse. I cannot fix it any way that looks decent. It is completely uneven and the cut is totally different on each side. She is a great person. Sweet and funny. I truly like her but I have had enough of this salon. I feel that $48.00 for a haircut is ridiculous for what you get. I haven't been happy here for awhile but kept telling myself that maybe it was me. I have been extremely clear the past few times and even brought pictures of ME with the cut I want! not pictures from a magazine. Another thing that really bothers me about this salon is Kim Jordan. I agree with the others who think she is too defensive. I feel that Kim makes her salon look bad in the way she handles these posts. Kim, I AM NOT a competitor! You are disillusioned in thinking you have some Fifth Ave salon. It is an average salon with average stylists. Though they are all very nice and upbeat. Think I'll try Cost Cutter next time. Once I grow out this mess enough that something can be done with it!
- Pros: Friendly and upbeat staff. Clean salon.
- Cons: Cannot get what you ask for no matter how simple
Salon Kroma is a great place for all hair types.

I love Salon Kroma. I have been going to Kim the owner for years. I even went to her when she was an employee at another salon long before she owned Salon Kroma. Kim truly cares about her clients and wants each one to be happy with their results. The thing I like best about Kim is she is honest. I have very fine hair and if I walk in with a picture of a hair style that just won't work on my hair she will say " your hair is to fine for this exact cut but I can do "this" instead which will be the same concept as that picture". I appreciate her honesty and willingness to work with what I have. I have never been disappointed with my results. If you are looking for a great place and a great cut look no further...
- Pros: great results
- Cons: non to note

After moving here from Colorado, I searched for someone who made me as happy as my previous stylist. I heard about Salon Kroma from a co worker and gave it a try. I wanted an appointment with Kim, but she was booked in the time frame I needed. The receptionist, Teresa, offered to put me on a cancelation list, but I didn't expect to go before my appointment, but, they did call when Kim had a cancelation! I cannot say enough about how great, sweet, and helpful she was. She consulted with me on what I wanted, and then SURPRISE~~~she did exactly what we had discussed. THEN, step by step, showed me how to style my hair at home. Now, I love my previous hairdresser, but she never did that. Instead of feeling like I will only look that good when I leave the salon, I can now style it pretty good myself. (Well, she still does better than me, but I am not as far off!)
The bonus to Salon Kroma is that it is very easy going and welcoming. Everyone there is very nice, I think 3 different people asked if I wanted something to drink! They made me feel comfortible and I look great. What more could you ask for?
By the way, I would like to say that Kim is a kept secret. If everyone knew how amazing she was with hair color, she would never have a day off. No where on the salon website does it give justice to her knowledge, awards, or the fact that she teaches hair color to other stylists. And one of the greatest things about her is, she is not arrogant. AT ALL. You can tell that she really loves what she does, and I have the pleasure of wearing it!
Thanks Kim!
- Pros: excellent stylist, helpful, no attitude
- Cons: NONE!!
