If fresh and hot are what you are
looking for, this isn't the place.
After several attempts to give this place a try, I have finally given up. The initial problem I had was the coffee was just "ok". Subsequent visits I've notice that the coffee was never hot (I could put my finger in it).
The last (and I mean last) time I went I was expecting to get a fresh pastry and a hot coffee (specialty coffee). I ordered a medium sized coffee, and it came in a medium cup, however I am fairly certain that it was a small coffee that they then filled up with their cold flavoring (thus making for a watered down room temp coffee). To make matters worse the pastry I had was stale. I've had crescents from Walmart sitting at home for days that tasted fresher. These appeared to be a Pillsbury mix that was made several days before.
I like the idea of supporting local businesses, but when you are within an ear shot of a Starbucks and aren't even half the quality. I just can't do it anymore.

Great New Ownwer!! Took over 8/1/11. The New owner Dave is a great guy. Thank you for welcoming us to the store and checking back with us to make sure everything was al right. The pastry and bagels are out of this world and freash. My family and I will be comming back for Italian Ice. Thank You Dave and good luck see you soon!!!

Had better service and coffee before. I've tried Southern Roast a few times under the new ownership. The coffee was not very good and the lady who works there brings her children who answer the phone and run around and disturb the customers. It is a very unprofessional environment. Customers are treated very poorly. Definitely will not be returning!

Never Had A Bad Experience. I have not had a bad experience here. Service is good. Teens, when working, having always been pleasant. They also had great ice cream deals in the summer which was great for families. They have wireless internet too...although I never have used it, that is a nice touch. I especially like their Grasshopper Coffee Drink....very addictive.

Not My Favorite Coffee House. The coffee wasn't very good. I felt that the owner was very unprofessional and rude to her employees and customers. Maybe it was a stressful day but still you don't treat people with disrespect!
