Raleigh >Skin Sense A Day Spa
I wouldn't go there. I have gone to this skin sense about 5 times and 2 of them I had bad experiences. I had a bikini wax and the girl must not have been paying attention because she burned/pulled off my skin and I could wear underware for 3 days. I also went back for a facial with a friend, we both came out and said "HOLY COW" she used a PIN on my face, WHICH I still have a scar from. I found out when I was at another salon the pin (aka Lancer ) is ILLEGAL and shouldn't be and it has been that was for a few years now. You might get a good treatment, you might not, I am not taking any risks and I don't want any more scars.
OWNER NEEDS TO BE ASHAMED. I recently visited this spa, and I admit my pedicure went quite well. The young lady that did it, I think her name was Trina, was very polite and even made me laugh a few times. I observed a woman in the spa and another staff member told me she was the owner. She appeared very uptight and did not converse with her staff at all. These young women were very busy working hard, its a shame that people like her only think about money and dont care about their employees.
HORRIBLE PLACE. I have tried to keep going back to see if this place can get it together but all 3 locations are horrible. and you cant blame the staff ..its the owner she is all about money and sale sale sale wont let the staff actually HELP the clients that are suppose to come to RELAX but yet all they do is push you to buy all this junk that is marked up 300%. she is greedy and cheap when it comes to doing things for the place its disgusting in those spas ..here is a tip for mrs. owner take some of that money and hire a cleaning crew. treat ur staff right and focus on the important things hello ur lucky you get business still not only because of how bad it is but we are in a recession !!!!
THE WORST SPA EXPERIENCE I'VE EVERY HAD.
Staff was rude and constantly walked back and forth through the "relaxation lounge".
Massage was mediocre at best. Therapist would not stop talking and telling me which muscles were tense. I wanted to say, "Yes, my muscles are tense. That's why I'm here getting a massage!"
During my massage, I could hear little girls screaming and laughing the entire time (they were 7-9 years old according to my MT, but were in the Teens Too portion of the spa).
Manager was not accomodating and tried to sell me products even after I had complained about the above.
All they care about at this location is getting your money. SELL, SELL, SELL. There's even a sign at the front desk saying to push upgrades. This is clearly visible to customers.
I will never go back.
Fantastic! Best spa in Raleigh. The facial and massage were second to none, and I've been here four times. Outstanding customer service, and skill of masseuse is amazing!
Very relaxing spa, professional staff. I went to Skin Sense for a full leg and full brazillian bikini wax. My technician was a pleasant girl in her early 20's I think, and she was nothing but professional. I had made an early morning appointment, and when I walked in I was directed towards a waiting room that had fruit and coffee and tea available, and a nice fountain and really comfortable chairs. The room was very zen. :) The staff used very quiet, serene voices when coming to get customers from the waiting rooms, and overall the atmosphere was wonderful. I could have fallen asleep right there in the waiting room. My appointment took about an hour and 15 minutes, and then I was off. The brazillian was great, lasted for a blissful month. The leg wax left me a little dissatisfied, but I think the blame is my own ( I don't think that I had let my hair grow long enough.) There were a few patches that the technician seemed to have missed, and as the hair grew back, I had a million ingrown hairs on my calves - yuck! It was a pain to get rid of those. But again, I suspect that had my hair been longer, the wax would have been more successful. Being my first leg wax, I had been a little unclear as to how long it had to be. (It was not my first brazillian.) Lastly, I was a little disappointed that I was charged full price for both the leg and brazillian waxes, however, because on the website it said that a full leg wax included a bikini wax. I had only been expecting to have a small charge for upgrading the bikini to a brazillian. But aside from that, I would recommend Skin Sense, and in fact, I have another brazillian appointment later on this month.
The Most Relaxing Day Ever!. I have been to several spa locations in Raleigh and have never experienced such a wonderful service as I did at Skin Sense. I received a gift card from a friend to Skin Sense and didn't know what to expect. I could not believe how calming and comfortable the spa was. The locker room was wonderful with all the amenities one could need. I was immediately relaxed while sitting in the quite room before and after the message. Thank you all so much for a wonderful experience. I'll be back!!! I've convinced my mother to come with me next time she is in town.
Not Recommended. Rigid cancellation policy and awful customer service. There are many spas in the triangle - I would suggest Synergy Day Spa or Iatria.
Best Spa Day a Girl Can have.. I am new to the Triangle and found Skin Sense (Brier Creek) and can't wait to go back. Over the past 2 weeks I've had a massage with Rose, a pedicure with Derdre and a facial with Suzanne and everytime the services have been amazing!!! You should go, it's a great place with steam rooms, saunas, great tea and really nice staff. Making your appointments online is better than having to deal with the appointment setters, that's the only area that needs some help! Thanks Skin Sense and I'll see you soon!!!!
Restored my faith in waxing in this area!!. I finally decided to attempt waxing again, and went on a close friend's referral to this Skin Sense, and THANK GOODNESS!!! Patty was awesome!! Not only did she make me feel comfortable, but she was very professional and very quick!! Will definitely be back and definitely refer people to Patty!!
