Doctor your Credit Card Receipts. The club is okay, but on the a crowded night that I was there, the service was terrible. There were several bar tenders, but only a few who could handle a credit card machine. Hence the 30 minute (I'm not exaggerating) wait to cash out. In addition to other problems, this gave me reason to leave a small tip. No worries for the staff, though; they adjusted my tip to reflect exactly 20% and sent it through. Still waiting to have this rectified. Just in case they are wondering....yes, that is credit card fraud.
Pleasantly surprised!!!..... I must say that after I wrote my review on the incident I had with the "owner", I went to the Aries Lounge website where I was able to email the real owner, Margaret. She responded letting me know that she is the sole owner of Aries Lounge and let me know that she emailed the promoters in charge of the party Friday night about the incident that occurred. One of the gentlemen responded to me with an apology and will be forwarding pictures taken from the party so that I can identify the man that caused the problem. Margaret even offered to make it up to me and my friends! While the incident was unfortunate, I am very relieved to know that the actual owner of Aries Lounge cares about her patrons! Besides as I previously said, the bartenders were GREAT!!
Electro Nightmare. I've never known a bartender to be outright hostile, but whoever was working when I went was nothing short of spiteful. This was reflected in the drinks I was begrudgingly served, of which you're better off trying to get drunk in a coffee shop. All 5 spaces of the parking lot were MORE than adequate for the number of people there, and the pool table looked fairly new. All in all, I'd rather perform minor surgery on myself without anesthesia than return to Aries Lounge.
Aries ROCKS!!. I love this bar. I've been there many times, and I recommend it to all my friends. They have had some cool parties. Every night is different at Aries, and something new is always going on. The staff is helpful and friendly. It's definitely worth checking out. My favorite night is Wednesdays at the Boneyard (heavy metal, $1 PBR). And for all the primping girls out there, Aries has hair spray, mouthwash, and spray deodorant available in the ladies' room for your use. It's always good to be able to freshen up for your man (or that guy you've been eyeing across the bar).
Good drinks, good service, loud.
I'm from Philadelphia and was visiting friends in Raleigh over the weekend. Went to Aries on a whim. We got there around 9:30 I guess, and it was medium bustling. CD Music was a good mix. Crowd very mixed. Some hipsters, some goths, a few lesbians, a couple of gay guys, one tranny. decent pool table. Around 10:30 , the DJ started pumping and it was pretty loud. The dancing is off to a side room, which is where it's the loudest. It would be better if there were a bit less sound in the bar/lounge area and keep it up for the dance floor.
The bartenders, manager were very friendly and hospitable.
This place is not for you if you are the conservative Raleigh type. But if you don't mind a little spice in your gumbo, it can be a fun night out.
Love this place!. I finally got out to Aries last week and love it! The music was great, the decor inside was awesome, like some LA/NYC type bar. Great drink selection and prices. I would definitely recommend this place.
Great Club. This place had everything my crowd was looking for, we had so much fun! Loads of room to chill, we danced on the dancefloor for a while. A few of the guys played pool a bit. Oh, and you have to see the bathrooms! Graffiti artwork covering the walls. Definitely the coolest bathrooms in town. I definitely recommend the place.
ugh. went there on a saturday night... got a little worried when there were about 5 people in there besides my friend and me... asked the bartender if there were more people coming, she said "yes" but they must have gotten lost. Also, they have a black curtain at the front door- can't tell if there's anyone in there or not until after you pay your cover charge. The DJ played ALL TECHNO ALL NIGHT to the point that my head was pounding. I felt like I was trapped in the movie "the matrix" I won't be going back anytime soon.
Downtown Raleigh lounge with a red-hot setting: Plush seating, soft lighting and daily specials in an airy warehouse building..
In Short
This sultry lounge encourages its mostly singles crowd to kick back and enjoy a drink from the extensive menu: Angel's Halo, Devil's Kiss, Sin, Tarheel Tonic, Blue Devil are among the choices. Futons, couches and bar stools are vantage points to people-watch in these sexy surroundings--be sure to take a peek at the aquarium and take note of the local artwork. A DJ provides jazz, house and techno music.
Great bar, great location. Aries is sweet. Great location and great booze. It wasn't too crowded so I didn't wait too long for a drink. The sound system is well put-together. You can still actually hear yourself talk in the bar area, but if you wanna get crazy in the main room, you can. Lighting is good and the decore is on point. 9/10
