good for a date. i went here last night and thought it was pretty average. the presentation of the food is nice and the service is really friendly, but the food itself is just all right--not worth the high prices especially with the portion sizes. you won't leave hungry but you won't have any leftovers either. the items i really like here are the pad kao and basil fried rice, but even those i don't think are worth the money--$13 at restaurant for a plate of rice i can make at home? as for the sushi, ive had it here a few times and it's decent. in general id say this is a good place to take a date, and it's definitely one of the better options at brier creek (though that's not saying much). but if you're looking for an authentic family-style thai meal or lots of good sushi then go elsewhere.

Just check your credit card online after dining in. I found I was charged more than pre-authorization. I faxed and notified the restaurant but they did not get back with me. Just correct the amount. Just not a pleasant place for me to go again.

Inconsistent is the best description. I've been to Champa over 10 times. The reason I stopped going is because of the inconsistency. The sushi is really good sometimes and just so so other times. The service can be really good. There is one waitress that knows us by name and if we are seated in her section then all is well. Otherwise, it's very slow and my husband who orders Thai always gets his food way earlier (sometimes 15 min) than I get my sushi. It's as if there are two separate restaurants. I love their lobster rolls and the prices are very comprable and the place is so convenient. .. and yet my husband and I often will pass it up. When they have music in there, it's too loud. We've received poor service here and there and really for the price we would simply rather go to Sushi Thai in cary. Sushi Thai can get very busy but they are always hustling to get you your food as soon as possible. There is always some wait when you order sushi at ANY restaurant because they are hand made but at Champa it is AGAIN in consistent. It's very frustrating. I know on Sat. nights at Waraji I can not be in a hurry the same with Sushi Thai. But if the food and service is excellent you mind less. When even the food is inconsistent you worry.

Always looking forward to coming back. We are regulars at this restaurant and every time we are very pleased with the food. As we are not the pickiest customers in terms of service and don?t like servers jumping around us too much, I have never noticed the staff being unprofessional as the other reviewer mentioned. The food, mainly sushi, is what we go there for and are always pleased with the quality and selection. The service is fast, so it is our favorite place for lunch, as we work in RTP. I would recommend it to anyone, who is not looking for a server standing at their table through the entire meal time. Yes, they are very busy in the evenings, and yes, they are very popular!

Atrocious customer service. With so many excellent restaurants in the Triangle area I've gotten spoiled with the the "triple threat" restaurants: spectular food, delightful atmosphere and professional staff. In an attempt to make reservations, the male that answered the phone told us "no reservations and expect an hour wait because we are wildly popular". When asked if the wait time could be reduced by arriving early, he responded by saying "I don't have time for this" and hanging up. Given our country's current economic uncertainty and potentially less discretionary spending - I'd rather spend my money where it's appreciated. Not a champ - Champa!

Awesome Sushi. My boyfriend and I stopped by Champa two weekends ago and it was awesome! Even the the soy sauce was out of this world. And the warmed saki was very smooth and almost sweet tasting after tasting the sushi. We will be back there soon.

Sushi...meh, Service unacceptable. If it the service was a lot better, and prices a little less, there would be no reason to complain. Every visit has played out exactly the same. The waitresses/waiters all walk around aloof. Food takes too long to come out. Each time, it was at least 10 minutes before even our drink orders were taken. Its been up to 30 minutes before an appetizer/meal order was taken. For the most part, the sushi is inconsistent. It ranges from bad to pretty darn good. I have had burned tempura and crab in rolls as well. There has been instances where the texture of the fish has been off. But when it seems like the chefs want to pull it together, its actually very good.

Mura and Waraji are both offer much better service and the food is always great.

Service is lackluster. I have been there twice. The serving staffs did not seem to want to be there both times. Thai food was ok, but there was a price jump in the dinner menu just 1 week after my first visit, and the portion seems to have gone down, so I was pretty disappointed. Not sure if I will go back there.
