Horrible food sanitation score and service.
Restaurant had a sanitation score of 90. It really takes some effort not to score at least a 95 on the NC sanitation score.
As for the service, this is definitely the worst experience of 2012. We waited at the front hostess stand for 10 minutes. The restaurant was only about 60% capacity with multiple available tables. The hostess stood behind the stand for at least 4-5 minutes while we waited about 5 feet away. The hostess fiddled with the wait sheet, menus, silverware, and did everything but acknowledge our presentence or existence. They fail to welcome us to the restaurant and were about to seat my wife and I, but forgot about our kids. Needless to say, we went to Chile’s next store. Leaving this restaurant was the best decision I have made all day.
Poor service - No employee accountability.
We used to love coming here, but after our experience last night, we will probably not go back. Not enough staff, food too salty and peppery, no one asked how our food was after it was brought to our table.
We couldn't even get them to bring us more water!!
WORST ITALIAN RESTAURANT.
I took my niece a,nd nephew who are visiting from India to this restaurant to try italian food (They tried olive garden but wanted to try something upscale)
The did not bring the bread out . you have to ask twice for the bread. The food was horrible. Macaroni and cheese was boiled macaroni..no cheese.
The food we ordered egg plant parmesan was lame .. no taste.
I would NEVER GO back to this restaurant. They are lame lame when it comes there food and the waiters judge you and treat u that way. they forgot that i make six figures and not 7.50 plus tips an hour.
Excellent Service & Food. This was our 1st trip to MG, and, we were pleasantly surprised. Our waitress was Barbara, and, she went out of her way to make us feel like we had been eating there for years. She answered all of our questions, and, helped me with my request for a special pasta dish. My husband had a house salad & I had a ceasar salad, which were served with a cold salad fork. The lunch arrived in a timely manner, the bread was warm & Barbara prepared the dipping sauce. Barbara checked on us multiple times. This was the best pasta dish I have ever had. My husband loved his ravioli dish. Barbara brought us a take home dish & a fresh loaf of the rosemary bread, which is delicious. We will definitely eat there again real soon, and, we will definitely request Barbara as our server.
Performing chefs cook up rustic, home-style Italian entrees at this buzzing family restaurant..
In Short
A boisterous, all-ages crowd of pasta lovers pack this energetic Italian spot, where chefs clad in white hats and red scarves keep diners wide-eyed by showing their moves in the busy open kitchen. The menu boasts family-sized portions of hearty traditional fare, from antipasti, chicken and pasta dishes to seafood, steak and wood-fired pizzas. Signature plates include grilled pork chops, lobster ravioli, and penne rustica with shrimp, grilled chicken and smoked prosciutto in cream sauce.
Go to a different Macaroni Grill. Normally I love Macaroni Grill, but there is something about this location that they just can't get right. Primarily it's a service issue. Waitstaff usually looks like they would rather be somewhere else, they don't offer you cracked pepper, they mess up your order and then argue with you about it... Every time we try to give this location a shot (it's much closer to where we live) we regret it. Drive to Cary if you feel like Macaroni Grill - the improved experience will be worth it!
Wonderful experience..
I'd recommend Macaroni Grill to anyone. I've been a regular customer for quite some time. The food is always delicious, and the staff, always friendly.
The only thing I've had a problem with, is the fact that MG doesn't always have hot sauce on hand, and being a "hot sauce addict," that becomes very frustrating! However, I highly reommend MG. To me, they are the best Italian restaurant around.
Just too many mistakes!.
They make frequent mistakes - do not go on the weekend. They like to use too much rosemary or capers. The staff is streached to thin & the service suffers. The building was built too small & the bar can not handle people waiting for tables.
Quiet weekdays - excellent place to go.
Weekends - don't bother.
