Good beer. Good food.

Jax is a great place to go grab a drink after work or to go out and watch a game. Great specials and excellent food. You have to try the enchiladas.

Its a place where you really are a stranger only once. The owners and staff are all great and just want you to have a good time.

JAX IS THE JOINT

I'M NOT SURE WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING ABOUT JAX SPORTS BAR. BUT SINCE I MOVED TO RALEIGH FROM PHILLY IN MID SEPTEMBER I WAS LOOKING FOR A NICE CHILL PLACE IN THE AREA TO HAVE A FEW BEER AND CONVERSATE WITH OTHERS, AND THEIR HOT WINGS...MAN THE STUPID HOT IS MAD CRAZY. . WHEN I FIRST STEPPED INTO THE PLACE EVERYONE KNOW THAT I WAS NEW TO THE AREA I WAS WELCOMED BY ALL THE STAFF MUGU, ERICA, VIC, LESLIE, AND DEE TO NAME A FEW. AND BY THE NEXT WEEK LIKE TEIA TOO STATED BEFORE IT IS LIKE THE TV SHOW CHEERS WHERE EVERYONE KNEW YOUR NAME AND YOU KNEW THEIRS LKE A EXTENDED FAMILY. COOL PLACE TO HAVE FUN, REASONABLE PRICES WITHOUT THE DRAMA AND SOME FRIDAY NIGHT KARAOKE IS AWESOME..AND THE ONLY SPORT'S BAR THAT I KNOW IN THE AREA WHERE YOU CAN SEE UFC EVENTS ON MORE TVS THAT YOU WOULD SWEAR THAT YOU WERE LIVE AT THE EVENT YOURSELF....

Great place to watch sports, drink brew and eat hearty!!!

I'm not really sure what the two reviews below are about, but my suggestion would be to give Jax a second look. I relocated from NY and was looking for a local sports bar to have a quick drink when fell upon Jax. Harry (the owner) and his entire staff welcomed me with a smile. Willing to expose my age here, but Jax reminds of the now defunct tv show "Cheers"...where everybody knows your name, and they're always glad you came.

Let's talk specifics...

SPECIALS:

Jax has recently introduced Mug Nights on Thursdays and Sundays. When you purchase a mug and order your first draft beer, you get all subsequent refills at a discounted price for that night.

Food specials run each day of the week. You would be surprised of the menu selections, surpassing the choices at many typical sports bars. By the way, the wings are off-the-chain LOL!

Drinks specials also run each day of the week. Just ask your bartender/server. Big ups to Les, Erica, Vic, Mugu, D, Tina, Lori, and the other servers (sorry I can't remember all your names) for working your butts off. You deserve a gold star for your service.

ENTERTAINMENT:

Here's where Jax stands out from the rest. They have a poker night, a karaoke night, a trivia night, and their Back to School bash was packed and banging with fun. Promotional ladies (like Bud Light or Coors Light Girls) will even frequent Jax with free give-a-ways.

But noting beats game time at Jax. Whether your sport is basketball, football, hockey or baseball, Harry will have the game showing on one of his Direct or Dish Network tv's (yes, he has both). The customers have mastered cheering for their teams while keeping rivalries friendly and respectful. Harry has even splurged for his customers by purchasing the extreme fighting matches shown only on pay-per-view. We love ya Harry!

Bottom line, this is a spot you don't want to pass over. Get to meet people in the area, from all age brackets. I would say that this is a great neighborhood bar, but as for myself, I do not even reside close to the bar and am now considered a "regular" by my own standards LOL. I've also run into others who are from outlying areas (i.e., Cary, Garner, Durham) and they have become regulars as well.

Would I personally recommend this spot...ABSOLUTELY!!!
