Calamari was nice, excellent sauce.
I chose their Arctic Char special and then regretted it for the rest of the evening.
Meal was overpriced, bland, and obviously tainted meal. (I'm suspect of the chorizo topping) Hopefully the health department will pay them a visit sooner rather than later. Stay away from the specials because they are definitely serving food that is going bad. Thank you for giving me food poisoning Bonefish Grill.
So-so food, rude management. Bonefish is living on an outdated reputation as far as I am concerned. Typically, dinner for two of us costs between $70-90, and it's a chain restuarant, nothing unique or special. The seafood is ho-hum, to say the least. Fish, regardless of the type, tends to be presented in thin slices and, on a couple of occasions, has been less than fresh. The menu is very limited and provides few choices. The management seems unconcerned about its treatment of customers. On a recent visit, we were finally seated 40 minutes after our reservation time and then were rushed by the manager to leave so that others could have our seats. At most decent restaurants, the late seating and the rush to get rid of us would have garnered a complimentary drink from management, but all we got was the sense that we'd been an imposition when we arrived and that we'd been booted out at our departure. We will not be back EVER.
Disappointing accommodation. Having made a reservation EIGHT days in advance for a party of 12, and being assured that I did not need to confirm it, the first members of our party to arrive are told there was no reservation made. The next group to arrive are told the reservaton had been cancelled, which it HAD NOT!! When I inquired what seemed to be the problem, the manager( I do not know the name, but he was on duty Sat., 5/16 @ 6:00p) insisted that the reservation ( made in my name) had been cancelled, that he personally had received the call,and he remembered it was a reservation for a party for "two digits". He continued that in spite of "my cancellation" our party was being accommodated as well as possible...which meant a tight squeeze at tables angled in such a way it was imposssible to see or converse with those not nearest to you. There was no apology inferring that the restaurant had made an error, but insistanced that in spite of the "cancellation" ,we were, nevertheless, being accommodated without having to wait!! At no time did the manager approach the table to apologize for the obvious error or for the inconvenience, and certainly there was no compensation of any kind offered. Yet in spite of a sour taste of subtle arrogance and indifference, we did enjoy a good meal served by an attentive wait staff; but the evening certainly left us less than satisfied that we had chosen this location; and very frustrated that a well planned evening for a friend's birthday was begun in such a upsetting manner. I would hope that other patrons never have to endure such a poor attitude from someone who represents this restaurant.
Too salty and too saucy. We have been to Bonefish 2-3 times with so-so results each time. While the atmosphere and decor are nice, I don't find the food to be anything special. Everyone raves about the bang-bang shrimp, but I find it to be greasy with not much heat. The bread is good (and warm on arrival at the table), but the worst thing about our most recent visit is that everything was incredibly salty and oversauced. Both my husband and I agreed that we left feeling like our lips were puckered from the salt and we needed to drink a gallon water to quench our thirst. We find the service to be adequate.
Very good.. I first went to a Bonefish Grill in Baton Rouge LA. It was wonderful! I was there with the Rad Cross working on the Katrina DR. We had a large group (26). We had reservation and were seated and served promptly. It was a wonderful experience. The Bonefish Grill in Cary was no different. The group was smaller but the service was still great and the food wonderful. The bar here is a little slow but still a good experience.
honest opinion/experience. if you want a honest opinion/experience here it is.. the fish that my wife got, the salmon tasted absolutely disgusting had to sent it back and just got a refund she didn't have the stomach to handle anything else after that. the tilapia that i got was undercooked and extremely thin no meat whats so ever. thats probably the most amazing part of our experience in this dump, trying to figure out how they could fillet a fish that paper thin!!!!! to top it off lousy service, arrogant little waitresses thinking that getting $15hr(tips & salary) makes them extra special, don't fall over the hype like i did. do yourself and your wife/family a favor and keep driving a little more i don't know where & don't really care...i know i will be though next time.
great food for a good price. went to Bonefish for the first time with a date who had been there many times. Had reservations for7pm--it was a wed and very busy.Were sat at 7:15pm. Server was friendly and prompt. Only glitch was my date was not served his wine he requested. Came out about 20 minutes later. Server said they had to open a new bottle and let it cool down. Food was delish-my fish had great flavor and the sauces they serve with it our awesome. Key Lime pie was tastey too. I had fish at Ruth Chris the other day and it was a complete disappointment-did not even compare. Will go again.
Not too bad for a chain. Numerous people have told me I have to try Bonefish, so I finally did this weekend. We had reservations and were seated right away. The first thing I noticed was the tables are pretty close together so you do have to squeeze around people to get to your table. Also, it gets really loud, so wouldn't be a good place for a first date or something were you'd actually want to hear each other. Our server was fantastic, knowledgeable about the menu, a wine drinker, and he checked on us throughout the meal. The calamari appetizer was just OK, a little too much cornmeal for my taste and the sauces it was served with were very sweet. I had the pistachio crusted trout and the fish itself was fine. It didn't have as much flavor as I would have expected though, the breading was a little heavy and mostly you could just taste the oil it was cooked in. I never would have guessed pistachio nuts were used because I couldn't taste them. The side dishes were however really good, I recommend the potatoes au gratin, not a side I see offered very often and it was a nice change from regular old mashed potatoes. I don't recommend getting the Key Lime pie. It doesn't have the right consistency, the filling is more like pudding which comes out droopy and had a bit of a grainy texture. The server mentioned they had changed the recipe and were using less gelatin, but in my opinion a key lime pie should stand up and not run all over my plate. My overall opinion is the restaurant looks nice, is not overly expensive, the quality of the food is a little better than average but not enough to make me really rave about it.
No ID. My and my finance' have eaten at Bone Fish on several occasions. The food has always been excellent in my opinion. However the bar staff is less than friendly at the North Hills location. They have the same bar staff they've always had on a Saturday night. We normally go in have a couple drinks while we wait for a table. I got carded Saturday night(which I don't have a problem with) I handed the guy my ID and he showed it to the other bartender (both of these guys have served me before) and they denied me service. Instead of making a big deal out of it we simply walked out and went somewhere else. Where the bartenders are a little friendlier. We went to Bogart's, which have better martini's if you ask me. So if you have a faded ID not even think about going in there for a drink.
