This company is incredible! Every person in every department is incredibly professional - from Michael Dean in sales through to Danny in Installation. These guys possess an incredible amount of knowledge about the various products on the market and how best to use them. They helped me choose the best material for my project and helped to keep costs down.
They offer quick, detailed, and binding estimates. Scheduling for estimates, templating, and installation was all done with my convenience in mind. At all appointments, employees showed promptly as scheduled and were very polite.
Templating was quick, easy, and required very little of my attention. I am so used to having to "hold contractors' hands" through this process because there are just so few that have any aptitude for details or any degree of complexity anymore. I really really enjoyed neglecting this step and just sitting back and watching. They came in, patterned, determined all the back splashes, incorporated a high bar, two corner sinks, and a single hole faucet then went away. I answered two yes/no questions and they got the entire room perfect.
Installation was as professional as every other step. No messes - they left the house cleaner than they found it. Those guys make moving and placing that stone look so easy. They even took away the old tops. These guys are even pet friendly!
All the way around - I highly recommend The Countertop Factory.
Installation of approximately 80 sqft of Quartz countertops into an existing kitchen.
Sales: Went very well. Michael Dean was very professional and knowledgeable, even let us go to his supplier and select the slab!!
Template: He showed up on time and did a very thorough and detailed job of measuring and building frames.
Installation: The installation was done on time and everything was exactly as ordered. There was a lot of dust left over and it did take awhile for me to clean it up. The only issue was that the caulk was not what we asked for and it was too dark. However, Michael Dean came out a few days later and replaced the caulk with one that matched perfectly.
We are thrilled with our new kitchen.
I highly recommend The Countertop Factory. Michael in Sales was one of the best vendors I've worked with when it comes to customer service and communication. He helped guide me through the process and ran the whole process very efficiently. We have a curved side to our island, in addition to complementary granite on the side counters. He made sure to capture the decorative parts of the side granite slabs. And, his team spent extra time to make our island template complete using only one slab of that granite to save us money.
Everyone I dealt with was professional and gracious. Installation was flawless and they even troubleshot an area that was a challenge caused by another vendor working in the kitchen. 'Invisible seams", which some other companies charge extra for, are standard with The Countertop Factory. The countertops and seams in my kitchen are flawless -- the attention to detail, the quality of work and customer service, and the price make The Countertop Factory a company worth serious consideration. They also allow you to source granite from several granite yards in the area (where some companies only let you pick from their yard).
Repeat business is proof of satisfaction --we are having them do the granite sink in our bathroom soon. Check them out if you're in the market for countertops --they also have great references for other vendors you may need in your reno or new build projects.
Almost everything you want except failed in the details – Description Of Work:
Installation of approximately 65 sqft of Hanstone Maple Canyon Quartz countertops with 4" backsplash into an existing kitchen.
The sales process went very well.
Template and Installation:
The template measurement visit was very professional and went off without a hitch. On the day of the installation, the installers were prompt, respectful, and hardworking. They took care to protect the flooring, furniture, and walls. The demo'd the old counters and removed them. They then installed the countertops.
We used the plumber they recommended. THANK GOODNESS. First the plumber had to cancel and without a beat the Countertop Factory team set up another plumber for us. The plumber was on-time to do all the reconnections. However, the holes made in the counters were not big enough to fit the faucet back in. Then the other fixtures would not fit back in because of the depth of the counter. It required us to make a couple runs to HomeDepot to replace the faucet and instant hot water heater. To everyones credit, the plumber stayed all day until it was repaired. I mean ALL DAY. That was GREAT customer service. In addition, the Countertop factory team came back out the same day to enlarge the holes. I am sure if I did not use their referred plumber, it would have been a very different experience.
1.The plumbing items that I indicated above that was resolved to my complete satisfaction.
2.The caulking of the countertops. These are a dark brown counter. I addition, I had an existing brown tile backsplash. The countertops were caulked in with a bright white caulk. A VERY poor finish and it really made it look unprofessional. They originally said that it was what it was, but after a couple calls they sent someone out that caulked it all in with a brown sanded caulk that matched it all very nicely and was what I would have expected from the start. This was resolved to my satisfaction, but in my opinion was a preventable matter that should not have occurred.
3.During the installation, it was found that my cabinets were not level. This caused them to wedge the counters level. I am OK with that. However, the wedges are right at the end of the counter and are visible. Again, it takes away from that professional installation feel. They indicated that nothing can be done about this. However, I have been paying attention to other installations I see and I never see any wedges underneath. I would not say this was completely resolved to my satisfaction unless I was told by multiple installers that "Yup you will see the wedges, that is normal"
4.This 4th one is my BIGGEST issue and the primary driver behind my no recommend opinion. In a very visible part of the counter there is a .5 X 1 cm white defect. It just stands out on the counters. It drives me nuts. I went with an engineered stone to get consistency. In addition, I went with CTF because they said they had a high volume. I figured if any defect would have been noticed in the stone that they would have not used that piece. Nope, their quality selection process said "Nope lets go with this piece for this small residential project and then lets cut it so that it sits right out on the counter". When I reached back out to the company, they said that unless it was a quarter size defect that was to be expected. REALLY - In an engineered product? Maybe if you are installing all the counters in a hotel, but in a small residential installation? I would think that they would be more careful. I would search for a place that has more attention to the stone selection or go with a cheaper product, so that at least you got what you paid for
Best Countertop and Countertop Service Around! – I am new to the Raleigh area. We purchased a house last fall. We needed a granite countertop in our new house. I gave the Countertop Factory a call. They sent somebody right out, took the measurements they needed (wasn't a five minute measurement, it was very thorough...). Two professional guys came to my house with the granite pieces and installed it. It fit perfectly!!! Looks amazing!!! Great price too! A++++++
Great Service and Great Countertops – Just wanted you guys at The Countertop Factory to know....my counter tops are awesome! I love them! Thank you for all of your help, advice and also, which I feel is very important in the times we live in...your honesty. I would definitely recommend you guys to others.
Countertop Installation – The installation crew was excellent.
A #1 in countertops! – I recently had a small seam appear in the Corian counters in my kitchen. My house is about 16 months old. I called The Countertop Factory and explained my problem. They sent a great tech out within three days (Chris) and he checked out the problem, as slight as it was and scheduled a return to fix the seam. After Chris left from the final service call I could not find where the seam had been even though I was the one that discovered it originally. Chris left the house cleaner that he found it. These guys are the best. I would recommend them for all your countertop needs.
Great experience, well worth it! – We recently decided to install granite countertops in our kitchen, and there were plenty of fabricators from which to choose. We met with and got quotes from 4-5, but we selected The Countertop Factory because we felt that the entire experience would go better with them. Competively priced (not the cheapest), very professional and knowledgeable. Now that it's finished, we are delighted to say: we were right! They were great! It looks terrific, and we just can't recommend them enough!!!
