A wonderful experience, they go above and beyond. Apex Auto works has always gone above and beyond there need. We recently had our 2004 Honda Odyssey needed the timing belt replaced and its 100,000 mile tune up. They always have our vehicles done on time when promised they are so reliable and honest to us that I wouldn't want to go anywhere else!
Best in North Carolina. Apex Auto works did a great job servicing my car. The work was completed on time, as promised. I will continue recommending them to friends and family in Apex. -Mike V.-
Great Service. I cannot thank the technicians at Apex Auto Works enough for the great service and support when I bring my car into the shop. The quality of work is consistently wonderful. -L.F-
Fail to give you heads up & terrible customer service.
I went to this mechanic on the advice of a friend, but it was the worst experience I've ever had with a mechanic before. First of all, they wanted to keep my vehicle overnight & all day for want ultimately amounted to an oil changed and a "look over" even though I had an appointment and I asked when I could bring it in with the shortest wait time possible. I brought it to them because I was driving 3000 cross country and wanted a complete assessment on the condition of my vehicle & wanted it to be safe for the trip. They told me the vehicle was "fit for cross country travel," and that was it. They didn't say what they'd looked at, and they didn't tell me what if anything might need to be replaced soon if not now.
Luckily I decided to go get a second opinion, because my emergency brake light had been stuck on I knew there had to be a reason for it. I found out that not only did they fail to inform me that my master cylinder float needed to be replaced, but I had a cracked oil gasket! There is no excuse for them not telling me about this because it would have been plainly obvious when they changed my oil. Regardless of whether or not in their opinion "it would last my trip," as the owner of the vehicle I expect a mechanic to tell me the condition the vehicle is in, even if the repairs are not necessary immediately - especially given that I told them I've driving cross country and was interested in safety issues. I want to be aware of things like a cracked oil gasket so that I can either fix it or be aware enough to monitor it during my trip so that I don't end up getting stranded unexpectedly.
Greg, one of the owners, was so condescending and rude to me when I called to discuss what they had looked at to tell me the vehicle was safe for cross country travel. He wouldn't tell me, and actually said that I wouldn't know what it was if he did take the time to tell me everything they looked at. Incredible! I'm a woman & the fact that this guy had no problem talking to me like that is uncalled for & completely unprofessional. I don't care who you are or how good you think your company is - the customer should be treated with respect and professionally.
Not only that, but when I left my vehicle with these guys, I had a knob on my trip meter button. When I got it back from them, it was gone. They refused to acknowledge this & it will cost me $300 to replace it because the knob only comes on the entire odometer part. Unbelievable.
My friend also took her vehicle to get an oil change & tire rotation. Incredibly, they apparently do not balance the tires when they rotate them! We found out the hard way, when her alignment was making the steering wheel shake violently after leaving the station. Her alignment was fine before they got a hold of it. When we addressed this with them, they stated that she should have asked for the balance because they do not automatically do that when they rotate tires. I called around to other mechanics & all of them said that they balance along with rotation. The only thing they offered her was to "put it back to the original condition," meaning to unrotate her tires. Needless to say, neither she nor I will ever let them touch our vehicles again!
Good stuff.
Have been going here for many years - they know their stuff and do only what you ask for, unless something urgent is noticed. They do not upsell, which is unfortunately very rare around here.
You do need to give a few days notice to get an appointment quite often and I rarely get my car back before the end of the day. But I guess like a crowded restaurant, it speaks to their popularity.
Thought it was great until.... ... somebody took our car for a joy ride while it was there for repairs. We have taken all of our cars to Apex Autoworks for several years, and really enjoyed the service. We felt like we finally found a place we could trust for good work and honesty and fair prices. So we were incredibly disappointed when we went to pick up our car after it had been at the shop for several days and found that it had been driven many many miles -- far more than you would ever need to check on a repair. This was a nicer car than our other ones, and the first time we had taken it there, so maybe it was more fun for them -- we had never had this problem previously. I guess I would say they do good work at Apex Autoworks, but if you decide to go there, check your mileage and make them write it down too.
A trustworthy shop with fair prices. My wife and I have lived in the Cary area for 7 years and have yet to find a shop that we felt we could trust to do quality work at a fair price. Someone suggested Apex Autoworks and thank God they did. From the first impression I knew we were in the right place. The shop is well maintained and the staff very professional. Their wall is covered in certifications. They diagnosed and repaired my problem quickly and charged me the same price they quoted. Their pricing was fair and better then two other quotes I received (by a significant amount). The workmanship was quality and I know I won't have to revisit this problem again for a very long time. It's good to find a shop that we know we can trust.
