BEST EVER!. La Rancherita is the best kept secret in Raleigh. The food is fresh and excellent. The service is always good and it is very inexpensive.
Viva Mexico!.
Fresh chips, homemade salsa with cilantro, chunky fresh guacamole and amazing margueitas. The service was polite, attentive and the patio was clean and pleasant. The prices were great. As a previous review pointed out, you hard pushed to spend over $30 for 2. We enjoyed two courses, plenty of chips and salsa, 3 margueritas, a corona and a diet coke for $37 and the food was fantastic.
I went there after reading the reviews here and its true as people had said. Its a little place, little forboding from the outside but ask anyone coming out what they thought and they cant stop gushing over it. Its truly Raleigh's best Mexican food. The friend I took with me was born and raised in Texas and knows and enjoys her Tex Mex. Her eyes were positively crossed in joy as she ate her Enchilada's.
Will definately visit again soon.
Tucked away but great value. My husband and I used to be El Rodeo fans, but not after eating at La Rancherita. The food is aways fresh and hot! The prices are extremely reasonable if you are on a budget. They always have great drink prices too. It's hard for two people to spend over $30 in one seating! It always confuses us when we go on Friday or Saturday night and the place is dead. I don't think many people know where it is located - behind the Barnes & Noble, Pier One, Toys R Us - same building, just down the side across from Just Tires.
Best keep secret in Raleigh. The food at this place is great and always consistent. The staff is friendly and will be happy to converse in Spanish (if that is your thing). My roommates and I go about once a week and they are never packed because it seems no one knows about them. I was a dedicated El Rodeo fan until La Rancherita a must try.
Great lunch spot. I'm not much of a mexican food lover but have to say that after attending a lunch meeting at La Rancherita, I've certainly acquired a taste for their food. Not only was the lunch awesome, they served by far the best chips and salsa. The chips were thick and crunchy, the salsa was thick and chunky, the queso dip was very good. For someone not usually thrilled about Mexican, this place rocks.
