35.828699 -78.706521Fantastic service, competitive prices, great selection. I recently purchased an engagement ring from Sparrowood and Jo and Gretchen were fantastic to work with. They provided a high level of attentive service, were always available to answer questions, had very competitive prices, and I could not have been happier with my experience. I agree with the other comments - direct and no-bs sales approach. I dealt with other jewelers in the area and they stood out in every way. I will be a customer for a long time!
Honest, professional, excellent.
After an extensive jeweler search ( at least seven jewelers) around the greater Raleigh area, I found Sparrowood online. Let me save you the time, aggravation, and stress. Go here first.
I was looking to buy a larger diamond for a 25th anniversary ring. Jo at Sparrowood was outstanding. From the minute I sat down at her desk, I knew this was where I wanted to do business. I had a terrible experience at a large diamond store in the area and was very discouraged. She dealt with me in a professional manner, showed me every diamond under the microscope, and honestly explained the differences in the diamond grading systems. There was absolutely no pressure.
Once the ring was finished, Jo took the time to work with me on the sizing which was challenging! I am delighted with my rings, and I have already given away three of her business cards to admirers.
If you are a first time diamond buyer; beware. It is a con artist's dream business. When my sons shop for diamonds, they will be shopping at Sparrowood, even the ones who live out of town.
Please patronize this honest business woman - you will not be disappointed.
By Far The Best Jeweler in Raleigh.
I'm very surprised nobody has reviewed Sparrowood yet. I spent an exhausting 2 weeks researching diamond engagement rings and bouncing around Sparrowood's competitors. I've learned that the jewlery business is VERY competitive, and there's a much smaller markup in privately owned businesses than there is in the big chains (never buy a diamond at the mall!). Even then, there's big competition amongs themselves. I shopped around with 3 of Sparrowood's main competitors and felt it was a no-brainer to buy from Sparrowood. Jo Sparrow (the owner) will spend a great deal of time and personal attention on you, and will truly give you the low down on what you're buying and what it's worth. She was also the only one that urged me to always look at the stone under a microscope, regardless of whom I buy from. There was absolutely no pressure to buy, and an excellent drive to stay within my low budget. I'd rate the service and honesty very high, but of course everything still comes down to price, right? While her initial offer was very reasonable, she was still willing to match the (slightly) lower price on one of her competitor's comparable stones. Even if her price ends up being a little higher (which wasn't the case for me), I get the feeling it might be worth it to pay it just for the care and future relationship you get there.
Definitely check them out.
