I was made to pay for an item that did not come out until 45 minutes after the rest of the food came out. My girl friend was almost finished with her dinner by the time I was told sorry for the wait accompanied with a bad attitude. The waitress did a sub-par job and when asked to take the food item off of the ticket I was told no and that they would only remove the drinks and make me pay $11.50 for the lackluster dish I received after my girlfriend was almost done eating. I will NEVER come back to this establishment again. It used to be a decent place to go eat, but not any more. We will find another Mexican restaurant that will better serve us and take responsibility for poor performance. Most restaurants will atone for the poor performance of their employees, instead of ganging up on the customer. I had the cook and the manager get an attitude with me over this ordeal. the cook said "Would you rather pay for the first one it was burnt, and I had to remake it. I told you it would be out in a minute" The thing is neither the waitress nor the cook bothered to say anything to me until 30 minutes after my girlfriend received her dish. The whole staff was very rude.

bland and overpriced. . If you want good customer service go elsewhere, and do not question or complain about anything or the wait staff will argue tooth and nail with you to prove they are right and you are wrong. We recently purchased a 'to go' meal there (BTW - they add on additional .75 for to go orders), and the entire meal was wrong, and not very appetizing. So I brought it back and requested a refund. One of the servers TOOK my bag of food from me and threw it away, then they accused me of eating it, and refused to refund the whole amount, and also refused to bring the bag of food back to me so I could prove I didn't eat it! The whole time two wait staffers argued with me in the restaurant, basically calling me a liar, and then threatened to call the police if I didn't leave. What happened to "The Customer is Always Right"?

IS THERE A NEGATIVE STAR OPTION? I am a very easy to please patron, and very generous if I enjoy the food and services rendered. On my very 2nd visit to this restaurant, I was overcharged. I called the "manager" (which turned out NOT to be the manager) to get a refund of goods not rendered. The woman on the phone "Roberta" argued with me and was RUDE and INSULTING, when requesting money that I was FRAUDULENTLY OVERCHARGED. The woman hung on me 4 times as I called to resolve the issue over the phone. I resulted to take over an hour out my evening to DRIVE to the restaurant and personally request my refund. She made a mockery of me in front of other guest and called the cops. The cops ended up making her refund what she RIGHTFULLY owed me. What a disgrace to make our cops spend their valuable time making YOU give me MY OWN MONEY back! Our tax dollars are not at YOUR disposal, Las Palmas. Accept responsibility, and stop STEALING from honest customers. But the principle of the matter is, how much trouble the restaurant gave me over a few dollars! I have NEVER in my years of living in the area experience such disservice. I would HIGHLY urge you to NEVER to spend a dime at this place. Better yet, go to EL RODEO or TORERO's----El Rodeo and Torero's are worth your money and time and would NEVER disrespect your patronage, nor STEAL from you. This is my first time writing negatively about a restaurant.....and will be my first time reporting to the Better Business Bureau. Fellow residents, I IMPLORE YOU to go somewhere else. I would not be surprised if the company goes out of business soon! The website is already down.... Read the "filtered" reviews on Yelp! ...same problems since they have opened!
horrible customer service. ordered the chicken fajitas and there was (no exaggeration) about 1/2 a chicken breast with a lot of tomatoes and onions. when i asked for more chicken i was told that was the lunch size. i had been there may times before and had ordered the lunch size and it was never that small. they didn't care that i was unhappy and i was basically told to suck it up or order the dinner portion. they have no idea what customer service is. i will not be going back.
We love the food here, but we were told that they overcharge consistently by a friend. Last few times we went we confronted the Lady at the register and she didn't speak English all of a sudden.
You'll notice that the bill comes to the table only with the ordered items with no cost info. You go to the register and the Lady rapidly punches the register and gives you a total. Do the math with tax at the table. She will charge anywhere from $1 to $2 more than your calculation. Then ask her why or for a breakdown and she goes stupid no speaky english on you.
Rude Manager / Owner. We used to love this place....had good food & was a nice neighborhood restaurant. This time, after we had our meal and got the bill, it seems way higher than it should have been. We then asked them to break it down. The manager / owner was very defensive & nasty about doing this. Ends up that they overcharged us by $8. The menu states that "a small drink is included in the kids meal", however manager said that this was not true. Tried to charge us an additional $2.25 each for 3 kids chocolate milks. Also didn't follow menu prices and tried to overcharge us for desserts. To top it off....on the way out, the manager / owner yelled at us in front of all the customers. Unbelievable! We won't be back.
What just happened????. Wow, where to begin.. I'm a mom a 3 and wanted spend some time with my youngest daughter (13). We had heard the food was good from her sister, so we thought we'd give it a try. Yes, it was Saturday, AND busy, but we didn't even get in the front door when the hostess said"how many?" I said "two please" ..No greeting, no engagement, but we hurried up to catch up to her as she "escorted"us to our seat. ..I said "thank you", she just walked away. BOOM! here's our waiter and menus..."anything to drink?" uhhhh...sure....we gave our drink order, whether or not that's what we really wanted. BOOM! drinks appear, "you know what you want?" Gave our order, reluctantly. It was stressful, we were under pressure, and we just guessed at something to eat. BOOM! food was out in 5 minutes... Taco salad was not at all worth $7, taco fajita plate was probably (maybe)worth the $11, but my daughter didn't even get to finish (barely start )it b/c the waiter asked if I was done, which I was, but he took both of our plates and he was gone so fast I couldn't yell loud enough to stop him from dumping her plate! He tossed the check on the table which was in some sort of "las palmas code" or something, b/c there were no prices on it. Waited at the counter to pay, rude hostess comes up, didn't smile, didn't speak, (I 'm sure she has learned english basics at least) took my check, took my card, gave me slip to sign, gave me reciept, and started talking to co-worker in spanish. Didn't even look, nod, smile,or say thank you. We walked out and I realized I didn't leave a tip. (I have NEVER done that in my life! well, there's a first for everthing, b/c I didn't turn back, I just kept walking just like that hostess did to us when we first walked in.
The food was horrible. We went there for lunch at 2:18 on a Wednesday, they turned the music off at 2:30 and they had their baby there. We asked why the music was off and he said we close at 2:30. We hurried up, we were out of there in 34 minutes. The food was horrible and we were not 2 feet away and he locked the door behind us. We will never go back again.
Poor Food Worse Service.
Went with my family on a Thursday Night. Were seated promptly ordered mixed fahita and 2 Grande Specials beer and glass wine.
Server was rude when we did not know what we wanted when we first sat down so we ordered drinks. Came back with drinks and was rude saying "do you know what you want now?" Rolling his eyes as we scampered through the menu... within 5 seconds he folded his not pad walked way 10 feet with his back to us and was leaning on the wall. Came back in 2 min then we ordered the mixed Fahitas and 2 Grande Specials.
Food was at our table within 3 minutes max.. It was all pre-made held in warmers I figure. Grande special was just a big plate of soft slop covered with cheese and beans. Could not even differentiate the 3 different items on the plate. Fahitas order very small order of over cooked dry hard chicken and beef that was dry and chewy. We did eat a few bites of each bean covered unappetizing slop. I was just happy my kids did not get sick next day.
I do not understand how places like this stay in business.. I heard the Las Palmas in Wake Forest is even WORSE ... I been to El rodeo/derodo and other "El" name restaurants around Raleigh where food was 10 times better.. Grocery store Mexican is better than Las Palmas...
Good Food, Friendly Staff, Fast Service. This is our favorite Mexican restaurant for a good value meal. The wait staff is super friendly and the sanitation grade is outstanding. Its usually crowded and noisy (kids). It has the usual Mexican menu.
