Average Mexican, but great staff!. To make a really long story short, my friends and I visit ethnic restaurants on a regular basis to sample different kinds of foods in various areas of the triangle. This was our September 2006 Ethnic Night. Yes, I'm behind in my reviews! :)

The staff was very good! They accomodated our group of 18 people! They never skipped a beat! Drinks refilled constantly, food came out quickly and accurately!

The food was similar to most Mexican restaurants in the area. Nothing flashy or anything to jump out at me, but over all, this is a great place to go!

Best Mexican in my opinion!. Their chips and salsa are fresh and wonderful. They have always given me good service. Their skirt steak dish is my favorite. It is tender, juicy, and deliciously grilled. Fabulous Margaritas! Reasonably priced too!

Torreros host called me a cracker. I had lunch with a friend at Torerro's Mexican restaurant on Atlantic today. While we were waiting to be seated, I told my friend that I had eaten there a few times and always had good meals there. I went on to say that it seemed like there were always a good number of Mexicans eating there, and I guess that's a good sign that the food is authentic. I think this must have offended the host, because he made a few comments while seating us about how he likes to call his white friends crackers. He said that if a white guy gets a tan, he calls him a wheat cracker. I laughed it off, but I think he was out of line. I don't see how calling somebody a Mexican is an insult. I suppose if you said that to a Puerto Rican, it might be offensive, but I think calling white people crackers is different. Oh well... The friend I was with was black and I thought of asking the host what he calls black people, but I didn't.

Excellent Mexican. I very much enjoyed my dining experience at Torero's. Quick, attentive service and excellent food. Not quite as spicy as I like Mexican, but the habanero hot sauce on the table made up the difference. MARGARITAS WERE GREAT!!!! Prices are very reasonable. A+++

Best Mexican resturant in Raleigh. Citysearch has their phone number wrong: its 873-9116..

This resturant offers great food at a great price. Its the best mexican resturant in town. The only bad thing about it is its small and if you sit in certain non-smoking sections, you can still smell cig. smoke from the bar and you get affected by it. Its worth it though!
