What Happend to Torero's?. I have loved this place for years. We have always enjoyed the food and the salsa. The customer service was good. Now that I have been then twice this month, I am concerned that they may have changed managers or something. On my husband's birthday, the customer service was bad; they did not refill drinks well. It was my husband's birthday, so we requested something special like we had experienced in the past. Past birthdays they were always nice; they would bring a desert, sing and take your picture. This last time around they brought out a small desert and just left it at the table without a word. The server clearly wanted to leave so she brought the check for her tip and left us sitting there alone with no server at all. We had to clear our own plates and ask random people for drinks. I thought maybe it was just one bad night but somehow.... They screwed it up again tonight. Our server left us sit there without taking orders for a good 20 min. She finely brought out drinks. When we ordered she asked what kind of beans we wanted, we all stated that we would rather have black beans. She cut us off at the end and told us she did not think they would have enough black beans so it did not matter. She needed to check in the kitchen.... What? There were only seven of us and the place was not full, so yeah I was curious. Lucky they had enough black beans this Thursday night at 8pm. When we received our food, she said there is no gacamolle left. We all wondered if they were going to lower the price or what, if you notice that that is one expensive item you pay extra for on a plate. At that point, I asked if they could give a small credit back or sub it out maybe. She came back with sliced avocados, stating, "That is all we have" a couple avocado has to slice. We ate and left without saying anything, honestly though: if we had tried to explain any of this they would not understand. They do not speak English. We were nice and polite both times and left. I will not be going back, it is too stressful. I like the food; however, the cutbacks on service and quality overall are ruined. I wish I knew.
You have to go !. The is true Mexican style food with just a hint of a Americanized touch . But not so much as to chase away the Mexicans, and still us gringos love it too . Ja Ja
Toreros; good not great.
Menu has some gems; my wife had a shrimp ceviche and I had tacos al Pastor. The ceviche was excellent, my tacos were just OK, but lots of boring standards like fajitas.
Seems like t would be family friendly.
The Greatest Mexican since El Guapo.. (Mexican) - Lucky, Dusty and Ned pay attention! Monday is Margarita night. They're cheap and they come in Dixie Cups. (Stop laughing.) The food is some of my wife's favorite (Mrs. Whitey) and overall it is the best mexican in town without a doubt. -Whitey
Best Mexican food in the Triangle. Torero's is definitely one of the best mexican restaurants I've ever been to. For a real treat, try the chimichanga, or the chalupa - you'll never order them again from Taco Bell. I love enchiladas but that's definitely not their specialty here. Try a margarita, they're strong, and well worth the money.
fabulous hangout!. This place is a great hangout especially with a big group! The food is fantastic and comes quickly... not to mention the amazing homemade chips and salsa that everyone gets upon arrival! Monday nights are the best when they have $1.50 margaritas... yum yum! My friends and I have gone many times and we have never had a problem with the food or the service! Everyone we have introduced to this place has been thrilled with it as well! Great food, fun atmosphere!
Yummy. Torero's salsa makes my heart beat faster. :) Food is pretty good - standard fare for a Mexican chain, maybe a bit nicer. Staff needs to have fewer tables, as I often have to wait longer than I should to place my order or get my check. I have noticed some less than honest charges on my credit card. Ex. Bill came to $15.25. I wrote the tip for $3.00. That toal should be $18.25, correct? Then how come my credit card statement reflects a higher amount. And this has happened muliple times. I suppose I could report them to my credit card company, or stop going, but they have me hooked to their salsa. LOL.
Solid Mexican. Torero's used to be my favorite Mexican in the triangle, but about a year or so ago it suddenly got more generic. The recipe for the Triangle's best salsa suddenly changed (it's much more bland now) and the menus got a slick overhaul to look more like a generic chain restaurant. The food is still good, if not great, but not that much different from El Rodeo/El Dorado, etc.. Don't expect traditional items such as tongue, stomach, menudo, etc.. I'm not entirely sure you can even get chorizo now i think about it. There are decent beer specials though, and a couple of big screen TV's as well. Overall, recommended if you're in the mood for typical cheap Mexican food, just don't expect to be blown away.
Customers should be treated with respect. After a long evening of shopping for the perfect wedding dress my friend and I decided to stop by and eat at this establishment. I have always enjoyed the atmosphere here even though the food is a little on the bland side. Our waitress was courteous and our meal came quickly. When the check came I whipped out my bank card and paid the bill. The next day I went to fill my car up with gas and my card was declined. I ran home and looked at my statement. Not only did the restaurant charge me the $24.00 for my meal but they also charge me $250. I tried calling but the woman on the end of the phone didn?t understand English. I hopped in me car determined to get this all sorted out. When I walked in a man behind the counter asked if he could help me. I said I wished to speak to a manager. He pointed to another gentleman standing by the counter and said I could talk to him. I went over to the other gentleman and explained my situation. When I finished he and the other gentleman started laughing. This man wasn?t the manager but a customer and friend of the first guy I spoke to. He sated that he wanted to find out first what I was here to complain about. We were able to straighten out the money mix up but his attitude and disrespect for someone who has been a repeat customer was horrendous. If you decided to try this place either pay with cash for make sure you watch your bank statement. I will not be returning.
