Not Happy

Poor value for your money.
Food was just "OK" certainly not worth >$90
A Burger (no side), a small salad (wasn't fresh and starving of dressing), small Steak and a few drinks...
Waiting staff kept talking about tips and some staff competition.....
I'm sad to see it "go"...

I totally agree with Dana. We used to enjoy this place, but when we went last week we were entirely disappointed. They have changed the menu... and it's awful. They now have a much more limited variety, basically took off all my vegetarian options, and prices have increased. The drink selection and specials used to be pretty good, changing up decent beers fairly often, and now they are down to 6 basics that every other restaurant has. They no longer offer half salads, which I often got--I don't want a whole head of lettuce, or to pay $14 for it. I was so unimpressed I didn't even order any food, which seemed to irritate our (obviously new) server. Sorry, Stonewood, but you've now lost several customers. Change the menu back!
WAS a great resturant....

About 2 weeks ago, my family and I went to our favorite restaurant which was Stonewood. We were so disgusted to find out that our favorite meals were removed from the menu. We ordered some other items from the menu for example the spicy chicken wings. These were not as good as they were months ago when we came. Also, the menu was very scarce and there was hardly any variety. The staff and management system was also new. We found the new service to be poor and the staff to be slightly unfriendly. All members of my family who attended this dinner were thoroughly disappointed in the change. My point is the food is not good, and I would NOT recommend this restaurant for anyone who is looking for something new.
Excellent Food In The Heart of Cary

Stonewood Grill is one of the best restaurants in the Triangle area, if you're looking for a variety of all-American foods. The blackened shrimp appetizer is NOT to be missed! And ask for extra "BAM" sauce (basil avocado mayo) - it's incredible good! The ceasar salads are phenomenal (add chicken or shrimp or fish or a combination) and the chicken on ciabatta is excellent! I live in Raleigh and make the trip to Cary just to have dinner at this restaurant a few times a month. There was a location in Raleigh which was closed about 2 years ago, but thankfully the location is Cary is going strong! Take a jacket, it's usually on the cool side in the restaurant, and be prepared to wait if you don't have a reservation, especially for later weekend dinners. Published by Kevin Coats Raleigh NC
Best so far in Cary

We have been here repeatedly and never had a bad meal. It is a great restaurant with, I guess, a contemporary American menu. Food is tasty and generally not overcomplicated. Wait staff are well trained. They can cook fish as well as steaks properly.
As a result, it is popular, so be prepared to wait especially on Friday nights.
Good job !
- Pros: Atmosphere, food
- Cons: Can be a wait to get a table
