Cary >N.Y. Pizza- High House Crossing
Disrespectful....say goodbye to a customer.
I am in the Public Relations business and originally from NYC. I have ordered and eaten my fair share of NY Pizza off of 55 (next to Harris Teeter) and the pizza has been solid.....But this is where the good part of this review ends.
After going on a Saturday night, and ordering 2 slices and a calzone to go...the girl who rung me up said 15 minutes till its read...... I was with my two young daughters and they were getting restless. To make a long story short, after 45 minutes, and nothing said from the cocky pizza maker/possible owner, I kindly asked for a refund and this mama luc gives me attitude. No apology, no coupon, nothing but a slap in the face to a paying customer who has recommended this joint to friends and family over the past few years.
With that being said, I will NEVER give this rude establishment another red cent of my money ever again. I rather get crappy pizza served with a smile than being treated like this place is doing me a favor.
Drive up Hwy 55 a few more minutes, hang a left on N. Salem and head to Anna's for a pie that is not only better but the owner there is a gentleman to all of his customers and treats them with respect since we are the ones spending our hard earned money.
I will make sure spread the word of this incident to friends and family who reside in North West Cary....Any paying customer should be treated with respect.
Say goodbye to another customer........ Use to be the best you will get in the area for italian style pizza but the service is SLOW!!!! Over an hour wait for a pizza and you got no apology, no coupon, nothing. I seen one person after another walk in get their pizza and walk out that is because they were personally known by the possible owner, why us little people had to wait for an hour for a pizza that was ordered ahead of time!! When asked how much longer just got a smart remark from the jerk behind the counter. Sorry, you lost a 2 year customer and it is just not worth the rude and slow service. Mellow mushroom is 4 times as busy and you wait 30-mins for an amazing pizza.
Best NY style pie in the area. Don't be fooled by others with similar names: "I (heart) NY Pizza," "______ (insert anyone's Italian first or last name) NY Pizza," "NY Style Pizza," NYPD (Pizza Delivery), NY Pizza "whatever"... only The Original NY Pizza comes close to what you will find in NY or Jersey. Everybody has their favorites but I have tried almost all these other dumps... these guys are for real.
Very busy on weekends so order ahead of time or pick up, and even then it might be a few minutes, but it's worth it. Our favorites are thin and the Sicilian (loaded). Perfect amount of sauce and cheese.
I'm ordering tonight!!!!
Great food, deteriorating service.
Having grown up on Long Island, I was incredibly pleased to find the Original NY Pizza Chain here in the triangle.
However, perhaps their food is too good, because their service is going downhill, at least at the High House location.
My past 3 experiences have been lackluster in terms of interaction with their wait staff.
Visits 1 and 3 involved take out - both times, was told 30 to 40 minutes to pick up my pizza. Both times I showed up and had to wait over 30 minutes to get the pie as there was a backlog of orders. I drive 10 min just to get to their location. Just tell me the right time and I'll show up. Tonight, most of the tables were full of people waiting for their food orders. Seemed that I wasn't the only person told the wrong times,
Visit 2 was worse - took my kids out to eat at the location. Arrived and told 45 min for them to make a pizza. All of the 15+ tables in the restaurant were empty. However, their take out / delivery biz capitalized on their ability to serve us. We left and found another restaurant that could take care of us. In this instance, why bother having sit down service? If you can't slot in customers in your store and get them food in a reasonable period of time, might as well remove the tables and put in more ovens. Just turn it into a Papa John's (order and walk out) and be done with it!.
Again, their pizza's among the best, but their success at this location is holding them back. Improve your service and improve your pizza making capacity. Otherwise, Randy's or another decent pizza shop might as well come in across the street and siphon off your customers.
Best in NC. This place simply has great pizza. Moved here fron NY in August of 06 and have eaten at several pizzaria's and nothing comes close to these guys. My family and I Love the sicilain - real sicilian style pizza! If you're calling for a pie on Friday or Saturday night though, you're better off picking it up, they are incredibly busy and delivery time will be over an hour. If you're from NY, definitely try this place!
A Pizza lover Heaven.
NY Pizza has it all...Superb service fabulous menu ..
And the Pizza ...it is the best ...the crust..
perfect ..the cheese, sauce excellent .. No other Pizza compares....... One bite you have found Pizza as Pizza lovers know it should be... one bite that is all it takes.. you have found the perfect Pizza the authentic New York Pizza .. this is truly the BEST
Delicious Food, Great Price. This is by far the best pizzeria in town. With the economy in a slump, its nice to know that I can take a night off from cooking and still feed my family of five a delicious meal at a great price. The food is always fresh and I feel that when everyone else is cutting corners to try and make a profit that NY Pizza still continues to uphold their high standards of quality.
Authentic. We moved here 22 years ago from the north and when NY Pizza first opened we felt like we were home again. They really do have the best pizza, probably because they focus on a simple menu. They sure got it right! If anyone has something negative to say they do not know what real N Y Pizza tastes like or they are confusing this place with all the copycat pizzerias using their name. By the way it's a great place to bring the kids. My kids love it!
Best Pizza Around!. Never thought I would find authentic NY style pizza after leaving NY but this place does it!!! They duplicate pizza from up north perfectly, always cooked perfect, tastes perfect, and is always fresh! No wonder they've won so many best pizza awards! The staff is always so polite and friendly! If your from the north esp. NY you have to try this place, I promise you won't be disappointed!
Horrid. Arguably the worst pizza in the state. Tastes like a cardboard box from my garage with a dab of catsup on it.
