Big Disappointment.
We had a craving for a hot dog and after considering Dairy Queen, Snoopy's, and Char-Grill decided to go to the Sonic on Atlantic Avenue. After pulling into a parking spot next to a menu, we pushed the button to order and waited. And waited. We finally gave up and decided to order at the window as we saw others eating at tables in front of the restaurant. We reparked and walked up. I mentioned to an employee standing out front that we had waited to no avail, and he said many of the speakers did not work but that "corporate" would not allow them to put "out of order" signs up. I guess "corporate" would rather that customers be frustrated and waste their time. We then ordered from a speaker/sign out front. This sign was also broken in that you could not pay with a debit/credit card. Our food was eventually delivererd by a very friendly waitress who explained they were out of limeade and that someone was going to the store to buy limes. We opted instead for an iced tea, and she brought us a large one. One of our hotdogs was very good; the other was okay. The onion rings had an odd sweet taste to them and seemed like they had been fried in grease that was a tad too old. In short, friendly and helpful staff but a very poorly managed location. We'll go to Char-Grill next time we have a hankering for a hot dog.

Worst Sonic in America.
It pains me to give this Sonic even a 1 star. This Sonic is located on Atlantic Ave. in Raleigh, NC.
They have things on their menu, such as Iced Latte's, and when you order them, they tell you that they don't make them at that location. If they didn't serve them at that location, they should take them off of their menu. I couldn't tell you how their food is because we didn't order anything, but their service is AWFUL!!! When I confronted the assistant manager about their false advertising, she was incredibly rude.
I would never recommend anyone to this Sonic and I hope that no one ever goes back to this location because they have false advertising. I don't guess they know that they can be sued for false advertising.

Poor Service & Food, nice servers.
The Toasters were not toasted, only cold white Texas Toast. The Tater Tots, a Sonic favorite, were great! It took 10 minutes to get an order for 2 and we were not behind anyone. I will return to Sonic, maybe not this one though.

Retro-outfitted servers deliver burgers, malts and sandwiches to your car at this '50s-style drive-in chain..
In Short
Founded in 1953 as a hamburger-and-root-beer stand, this nostalgic eatery is known for its intercom ordering system and roller-skating carhops. While servers rarely roller skate anymore, the famous made-to-order, all-beef burgers and thick malts are still menu favorites. Other signature items include Toaster sandwiches (made with thick Texas toast), extra-long chili and cheese hot dogs and hand-battered onion rings and tater tots. Desserts include chocolate, vanilla and strawberry shakes and fresh fruit slushes.
