What People Are Saying About Cody's Chinese Bistro

In Short – The thematic design of this Asian bistro centers around the kanji (Chinese characters) for "House of Wine," a motif echoed on the surrounding red walls, piled wine boxes and even on the bathroom stalls and surrounding babbling koi pond. Most of the forethought went into Cody's design. Dishes are hearty, but typical The specialty, Cody's duck, comes piled on top of vegetable tempura. Fresh fish is prepared four ways, including a Szechuan style.
Editor's Tips
- Save Money:
- The entrees at Cody's--especially the more expensive specialties such as duck or fish--are enormous and can feed two or three people.
- The Extras:
- The restaurant is rarely crowded, so this is the perfect place to go with a large group, even if it's last minute.
- Save Time:
- The takeout menu is better than most; you'll get the same dishes you'd get in-house plus a $2 delivery fee inside the Beltline.

Pad Thai is pretty good- but if you've ever been to an awesome thai restaurant like- Thai Taste in Charlotte- this does not compare at all! thai rolls are gross and the peanut sauces are off. we also got salads-- i didn't know you could mess up ginger dressing-- overall- it's decent, but i'm sure they may have better things on their menu than we happened to order. i will say i'm really picky about asian food-- b/c i'm allergic to MSG's-- and had no allergic reactions with anything I ate-- i may go again-- but will try something different.
TERRIBLE EVERYTHING!!

my wife and i arrived for basketball and food.we couldn't sit at the bar because it was packed with employees who would not move.they just sat there, smoked and watched the game. we sat in the empty restaurant.we ordered food and since we couldn't watch basketball we decided on to go food.after a very lengthy wait we were informed we couldnt get late night menu to go..when we told the manager it wasnt on the menu he was a jerk..we paid ($65)and left .got home, ate, and the food was average at best amking the experience complete.COMPLETELY AWFUL!
- Cons: management, employees, food

I've tried this place twice and both times found the food totally lacking. Last time I decided to try a Thai dish and ordered the Pad Thai. First off the dish had no traditional heat. I couldn't pick up a hint of a pepper! Second, the expected peanut sauce had no taste of peanut. Terrible! The first visit I ordered my favorite and usual dish when trying out a Chinese Restaurant...General Tso's chicken. The breading on the chicken was gooey and seemed as though it had been cooked much earlier and left to soften
and again the sauce had no heat.
