Oh my what a disappointment - I called like 5 or 6 times with no answer or answering machine and finally got to talk to someone and made an appointment for facial and massage - As soon as I arrived I was disgusted - stylists/therapists sitting on porch smoking cigarettes ! Hoping that my service would not be conducted by one of them I sat and waited past my appontment time - to find out that I would be getting a facial and a massage from someone who REEKED and smelled GROSS ! How could theythink anyone wouldwant their stinky filty hands touching my face ? This would not do - I do not know who manages the place but they are losing money big time - the place has so much potential but the staff is destroying its reputation ! Someone needs to clean the place up inside and outside is dirty too.

• Cons: sadly - everything else !

Don't bother--very unprofessional & spa services not good

The place looks nice and is in a good location, but that is about all it has going. I was sold by its appearance and the women who kept saying they were Raleigh's only 5-star spa. They seem to open later and close earlier than the posted hours because they don't answer the phone. I have even gone over there to try to make an appointment after being so irritated by the answering machine and it was closed 1 hour early. I bought someone a gift certificate and it was lost, but the salon kept putting off looking it up and saying no one knew how to do it and after 3 weeks of stalling finally said they lost the records and couldn't get it back . They should have at least offered to split the difference, but did not. Then I went in for a supposed relaxing couples massage and facials it was the worst massage & facial experience of my life. The massage therapist smelled like smoke, would not stop talking, mostly about himself and trying to sell himself for other outside services not affiliated with the salon-- then when he got to our hands he intentionally cracked the knuckles and made a moaning sound with every cracking noise! I don't know if he thought he was convincing us that it felt good, but it was disgusting. I told them I wanted a deep cleansing facial and the woman who did the facial insisted that she did deep cleansing facials knowing I would not go for the service otherwise. She basically gave me a face massage with products then put something on me that felt like it was burning my face off and tried to convince me that the product was the deep cleansing piece of the facial. Horrible service, unprofessional staff, unenjoyable experience, and a waste of money. There are so many places you can choose from & this is not the place to go. They say they are a 5 star salon and not only are they NOT a 5 star salon, but the only reason they may deserve 1 star is because the place looks nice.

Not just "hair color"... hair "COOLER" !!!

Fashion Explosion... I can't begin to tell you guys emphatically enough, HOW MUCH I ADORE my "HAIRCOOLER" and designer cut by SERENA !!! It was an incredibly fun experience to allow her complete artistic license to redefine my appearance to reflect my TRUE INNER DIVA ... They have treatments for the outer and inner ME... She really cares about her client and seems to have a special way of making me feel as though no one else exists...STAR TREATMENT. As a fact, you could say " 5 STAR " treatment, as she has been nationally ranked for her AVEDA salon / spa. I am an AVEDA baby, and this is the VERY FINEST to be found. Check it out for yourself...I really suggest taking a friend for facials with April / Jessica and top it off with a girlfriends lunch, manicure and pedicure done on her lovely front porch...They sometimes have LIVE GUITAR too...You'll thank me for the advice.

• Pros: Top drawer service- charming Glenwood South Bungalow- Great views- live guitar sometimes
• Cons: They work by appt. only - no walking in without notice. They will extend hours to help you.

Shut it Down!

Talk about somebody who doesn't know how to run a business!!! Serena has poor customer service... I have booked several appointments first thing in the morning and she has NEVER been on time, and really didn't seem to care because she didn't call my cell to say she was running late. She always seems stressed out which kills the atmosphere she has going for her, and it seems to be a salon full of drama! There's nothing special about it, they just need to shut it down! The spa thing is seriously a joke and she is totally over priced. I don't recommend her at all!

Beautiful Decor & Awesome Color

Serena's is one of the neatest spas in downtown, the house is beautiful, very relaxing, and spacious. I would recommend if for bridal parties especially, it would be a great place for pictures too.

I had cut and color done and Serena did a fabulous job. I'd also recommend her if you are looking for a new, hot cut.
